Bull is an American legal drama about investment bankers. The television series, which is about Dr. Jason Bull, who is a psychologist and trial science expert, has five seasons so far and was renewed for its sixth season in April 2021, which will be streaming on CBS and Voot. The series is expected to be filled with suspense and suspense elements with occasional comic relief.
Production Development
On February 2, 2016, it was announced that CBS had given the production team the order, to begin with, the Pilot of the show that Dr. Phil McGraw and Paul Attanasio wrote. CBS had officially ordered the Pilot to series on May 13 of the same year. It was soon announced that the series would hit the screens in the fall of 2016. After the success of the first season, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on September 26, 2017.
And the third season was available for the audience from September 4, 2018. On May 9, 2019, following the announcement of the series being renewed for its fourth season, many executive producers had decided to remove themselves from the production unit following the harassment controversy associated with the series star Michael Weatherly.
The fifth season, which was renewed in May 2020, was cut short to 16 episodes due to the pandemic. The latest season of the series is queued to premiere on October 7, 2021.
Cast
Michael Weatherly plays the lead role of Dr. Jason Bull, who is a holder of three PhDs in psychology and a pilot’s license. He is the owner and operator at Trial Analysis Corporation. He bears an adverse hatred towards lawyers owing to the fact that he failed the bar exam twice. In other important roles, we have Freddy Rodriquez as Benjamin Colon, also known as ‘Benny,’ who is Bull’s former Brother-in-Law.
Geneva Carr is cast as Marissa Morgan, a psychologist who is also second-in-command in Bull’s team and had previously worked for Homeland Security. Jamie Lee Kirchner plays the role of Danielle ‘Danny’ James, the lead investigator of the team, a former NYPD detective. Christopher Jackson cast in the role of Chester ‘Chunk’ Palmer, a fashion stylist who used to work for Vogue and is responsible for preparing the clients of Trial Analysis Corporation for court.
Other recurring casts involve Dena Tyler as Liberty Davis, Jill Flint as Diana Lindsay, Jazzy Williams as Anna Baker and, a few more.
Plot Expected
Bull and his team are involved in both selecting the right jurors for their clients and helping their lawyers decide on the type of argument that will win over the jurors best. The fifth season of Bull ended with a cliff-hanger, leaving room for many questions, including the deciding fate of Bull’s relationship with Izzy, which was in perils due to his involvement with Benny’s competitor; it is expected that the new season will serve us with the most anticipated answers.
Critical Acclamation
Bull has received a positive response from the audience and has a 7 out of 10 ratings on IMDb. The series received mixed critical reviews but paved the way to receiving a nomination at the People’s Choice Awards in 2017. The new series is highly anticipated and is expected to return with a bigger and better surprise.
