The latest docuseries, The Curse of Von Dutch: A Brand to Die For, is based on the popularity and degradation of the iconic 2000s clothing brand Von Dutch. If you were in your teens around the 2000s, then you surely should remember the brand especially famous for its tucker hats and jeans, and how many celebrities were seen wearing the brand’s apparel.
Justin Timberlake, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears were all the A-listers that completely loved the brand and were often spotted in their clothing. But its fame was not long-lived, and the brand fell to ashes because of internal conflicts, murder mysteries, and greed. Here’s everything about the Von Dutch Story!
What does the Series Intend to Tell?
The show based on true crime events will portray the incidents being practiced behind the business empire of Von Dutch. The trailer of the series claims the business to be a money-laundering scheme and also hinted towards its connection to drug lord Pablo Escobar. The company also faced various serious allegations, like the co-founder being accused of murder to mysteries and madness surrounding the once-popular brand.
Light will also be thrown on the creation of this fashion line, credited to its said trio- Vaughn, Ed Boswelland Cassel. The trailer also showed how the company was tough to control from the very beginning and how the three creators were always at loggerheads, and disputes and fights continued within the business brand.
Who can All be Seen in the Show?
The creators of the clothing line, each of whom claims to have created the brand- Cassel, Vaughn, and Boswell will be seen sharing their sides of the story behind the rise and fall of the once iconic name in the fashion industry. The man behind the successful advertisement of the brand, Tony Sorensen, will also be seen speaking up about the whole agenda.
In the trailer, he is seen stating that even though Cassell made him the company’s CEO, he was still unaware of many aspects of the brand. Iconic star Paris Hilton is also seen speaking up in the trailer about the brand and how she was a big-time fan of the company’s apparel.
What will Each Episode of the Series Tell?
The initial episode of the series has been titled Who Created Von Dutch? And as the name suggests will dig deeper into the origin of the brand and the equation shared by its founders. The second episode, titled The Art of War, will focus on the beginning of the downfall of the classic brand when new investors step in, making tensions soar up accompanied by murders and terminations.
Episode three, named Von Douche, will tell how the brand’s destruction just went out of control and how the creators just ruined their reputations in the industry.

The three-episode-long docuseries was released on Thursday, November 18, 2021. It can be streamed at Hulu by either opting for a month of a free trial or going for a suitable subscription plan.
