It’s time to go to the beach, soak up some rays, and enjoy it all. Welcome to WatchMojo, where we’re counting the Top Anime Beach Episodes.
For this list, we’re looking at thoughtless filler beach episodes that put our favorite characters in difficult circumstances of anime beach episodes.
We will also exclude episodes that include hot springs or ‘onsen,’ as that is a separate list.

“Swimsuit of the Dead” by Outbreak Company is an excellent example of a great beach episode, especially when otaku protagonist Shinichi tries to create his own anime beach experience with the actual dream females he travels with.
Aside from his fantasy fulfillment, the highlight of this show has to be watching a group of elderly intellectuals argue about which bikini would be appropriate for their 16-year-old empress.

Do you recall that beach trip the Sailor Senshi took where Chibiusa made friends with a little dinosaur? The Sailor Senshi then had to save her from a volcanic island erupting.
One of the oddest Sailor Moon episodes we’ve ever seen is The Beach, The Island, and a Vacation: The Guardian’s Break.
The prospect of a dinosaur island close to the coast of Japan doesn’t phase Sailor Senshi. However, they have also battled aliens and been to the moon, so perhaps encountering an Elasmosaurus was the most recurring event of their week.

Beach episodes typically take a break from more severe arcs, but Another never does.
We’re looking at the chaperone in her bikini one minute; the next thing we know, there’s blood in the water.

Team Dai-Gurren is adorable at the beach, but this episode is excellent for its inversion of the Yoko-versus-Nia dynamic.
Yoko is initially envious of Nia – the boys like her, and we’re meant to adore her in her lovely bikini — but their friendship strengthens despite her envy, giving this a beach episode with meaning (plus some good fan service)

The show’s gut-busting absurdity reaches a new level with “Summer Vacation is the Most Fun Right Before It Begins.”
Highlights of this bonkers episode include a talking sea turtle with chest hair, a firefight between a battleship and what appears to be Gamera, and the entire gang catching each other in embarrassing acts after becoming separated on an island. It’s humorous because none of it makes sense.
There are several fantastic beach episodes in anime, but Gintama’s is the most enjoyable.
