The Toy Story Franchise started releasing Toy Story, the first film in 1995, a fully computer-animated action comedy film. John Lasseter directed it, and the writing credits go to John Lasseter, Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton, and Joe Ranft. Another factor that made the franchise so famous was all of its so-called “Best Toy Story Characters.”
There are four Toy Story movies, and if lucky, fans can even watch the 5th Toy Story Movie in the future. The story characters presented here are toys but are fully alive, so it is unique and out of the box. Toy Story Franchise has well-fabricated characters and each of these Pixar Movie characters is different, yet without one another, they would have failed to survive.
This was the first Pixar film and had several heartfelt and hilarious sequels. The Sequels are as follows:
- The First movie, Toy Story (1995)
This is the very first movie of Toy Story.
The following parts of the story are very kid-friendly.
- Toy Story 3 (2010)
- Toy Story 4 (2019)
It is not hard to tell the most popular toy story characters, but of course, it is up to you to decide who is the best toy story character among them. The list of best toy story characters are:
20. Wheezy
Wheezy is a real example to showcase what precisely a toy wants. He is the most heartbroken toy in Andy’s room; all he wishes is to play with someone or someone to love and play with him. But he is placed high up on Andy’s one of the shelves and can be said to have been somewhat forgotten.
But Woody is all there to save everyone. Wheezy’s hand was damaged, and though Andy’s mother promised to repair it, she never actually did; thus, he got lost among all the other toys. His squeaker also fails to work, and no one is able to find him until Woody (Tom Hanks) does
In Toy Story 2, he seems happy, but that does not last long. In Toy Story 3, he had no role, which is heartbreaking. If you have seen the Toy Story Saga, you will know that life is uncertain for humans and toys. Once you are loved and the other moment, you will be forgotten, and that is what happened to Wheezy, the lost toy.
19. Duke Caboom
Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves) is perhaps one of the most recognizable or handsome toys among all Toy Story characters. His overall appearance and outfit automatically attract fans’ attention. He has a tragic story of his own and appears in Toy Story 4. He has severe self-doubts after his son started to lack interest in him for being unable to jump like the Duke Caboom from the commercials.
However, in the end, he embraces his failure, and his character journey has been incredible. His supporting character is Bo Peep, who assures us that losses make him so unique. It became a favorite toy story character and preached a lesson, irrespective of your losses; you must move on and try to improve. He is one of the best cartoon heroes,s so you ought to love him.
18. Bonnie
Toy Story characters have been evolving with time, so new characters must also be introduced to keep the plot going. Such a character is Bonnie. Emily Hahn and Madeleine McGraw played the characters in Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4, respectively.
She clearly shows how happy a child gets to play with their favorite toys. This inclusion has given the story a new area and a joyful vibe. She became such a cuddly demeanor that in Toy Story’s fourth movie, she became the protagonist instead of Andy.
In the movie, she, like any other kid, has grown up yet loves to play. Here the audience can see Forky as her favorite toy.
17. Emperor Zurg
This Toy Story character gets introduced in Toy Story 2, and as soon as he comes, he greatly influences the plot. In the beginning, he only has a tussle with Buzz Lightyear and aims to defeat him in a game played by Rex.
He is also involved in several actions,s which might be because he takes inspiration from Star War Villai, Darth Vader. Overall, he is a great character who also gets a happy ending in the end and is satisfied with playing with a different Buzz Lightyear toy in the concluding part.
16. Stinky Pete
Stinky initially seemed to be the villain of this series, but no, he loves to speak the truth, and that’s his best characteristic. He will be seen insisting Woody leave Andy because when Andy grows up, things will change, and Woody might not be wanted by Andy anymore then.
Stinky was somewhat fi, but Woody had a high-level trust in Andy and thus never left him. He wasn’t a lousy guy,y but yes, his provocations made him look like one. Kelsey Grammar voiced the character.
15. Gabby Gabby
Gabby Gs is another character thought to be the villain here and has a creepy vibe when found in the last toy story film. She also was believed to harm Woody, and somewhat it is true. She is after Woody’s voice box as she has damaged her and wants Woody’s. But she has no bad intentions. All she wanted was to be loved, and she thought she was unworthy of love that lacked a voice box, so by getting one, she might be able to get love as well.
She turns out o be evil but becomes good as the story progresses and has to do some crucial roles. The best part is that Woody does give her what she wants, which is also a lesson to every kid that doing good for someone feels great.
14. Sid
Sid can be said to be the villain of Toy Story. Unlike Andy, he acts dangerously and cruelly with his toys. He let them go through some gruesome acts and unusual punishments. His character is terrifying, which might hint that he has some mental illness. Who on earth acts cruelly with their toys?
His limits got crossed,d for which Woody had to break the rules and speak directly with a human, Sid, for the first time. He ordered him to be loving toward his toys, and his words seemed to work. From then onwards, Sid has not seen oppressing toys anymore.
13. Bullseye
Woody’s trusty steed Bullseye(CGI toy horse), did not need to speak to be loved. He is a horse who had been with Jesse in AI’s apartment and now is Woody’s loyal steed. The audience gets to know him in the second Toy Story film, and as he never utters words, he gives gestures to tell about his emotions. The best part is his signs are easy to be understood one at a go, and you need not watch them twice or thrice to know their meaning.
He has big shiny eyes for which his expressions are boldly revealed, and children love them. He is always ready for anyone who needs help, and Woody, would not have been able to accomplish his tasks without him.
12. Forky
The Fork was indeed a great character to be included in the last film, and without him, the movie might not have been able to answer several questions or doubts that fans had to pose.
He is merely a plastic utensil made by Bonni,e but he is more a spork than a fork, to be honest. Forky is unique because a child has made him, and no one before him was designed by a kid for which he stands out and is Bonnie’s favorite. He is a brilliant toy, and Tony Hale puts forward his character excellently.
11. Slinky dog
Dogs are great friends of humans and also are toy sheriffs too. The slinky dog is one of the best characters of Toy Story. He is very much loyal and obedient to Woody. Everyone else thought it was Woody to push Buzz, but Slinky Dog was sure of Woody and believed he could never do such a thing to harm someone. When it finds Woody guilty, he is the last one to leave him, but in the end, of course, Woody is innocent, which got proven too.
His character is unique, and he gets all the love that one can aspire for from the audience.
10. Rex
Anxiety-filled Dinosaur Rex has always been there to entertain audiences. He is present in all four films of Toy Story. He tries to depict himself as a tough one among all, but everyone gets to know that he is an anxious toy who is scared of almost everything.
His character development was significant to watch in all four movies,s and he is one of the core characters. He should have been sacred of Triceratops as well but did make a good relationship with her. He is one of the most remarkable characters in Toy Story.
9. Hamm
Hamm(voiced by Pixar Veteran John Ratzenberger) is the piggy bank and provides several funniest moments. Andy has a lot of toys, and among all his toys, Piggybank is the funniest one who takes pleasure in astonishing his friends. His dialogues have been well designed by the Toy Story Franchise, and in all four films, he has done a splendid part.
In Toy Story 3, he plays Dr. Evil Porkchop. He even lets a barrel of monkeys and an enormous laser shoot Woody, Jessie, and Buzz, but this all happened in Andy’s imagination and not in reality. Hamm can never be the villain n after all. He is a compelling character whom you should love.
8. Lotso Hugging Bear
Lotso Hugging Bear had an emotional past, and for that reason, he is automatically loved. He gets lost when his child owner loses him during a trip. Andy’s toy gets donated to SunnysideDaycarer,e and there they meet the head toy, the hugging bear.
He has a pink body and a soothing voice for which he gets trusted easily. He is the most sinister character in the world of toys, but overall, his inclusion was needed to give the story a new dimension and teach kids that different men are living in the same world.
7. Mr. Potato head
Mr. Potato’s head has a unique charm of his own. In the first movie, he shouts a lot when the other toys throw Woody off the truck. He also judges almost everyone, and they listen to him patiently.
The best part of Mr. Potato Head is that he is honest and very much loyal. He does whatever possible to save his gang and is there in times of need. He indulges in funnier moments, and when he is with his partner, Mrs. Potato’s head, the comic duo seems to have completed the toy family.
6. Bo Peep
Bo Peep is a supporting character in the first two Toy Story films. She also was not there in the third installment, but when she returned to the next one, the fourth one, she instantly grabbed everybody’s attention. Woody has always somewhat loved her and ultimately finds his love at a carnival.
In the last movie, she has no owner but helps Woody and Buzz to get back to Bonnie, but when asked to join them, she rejects the offer. She has been the only toy with such a great personality and maturity, and definitely, the audiences fall for her after this.
5. Andy
There ought to be a protagonist; in this Toy Story Franchise, it is Andy. Andy’s toys helped save him from depression and gave him a joyful childhood or adulthood. He owns Woody and another toy; thus, s without him, the audience could have never been able to watch such films about toys and their lives. His love of his toys accurately reflects how children,n to,o love their respective toys and grow up playing with them.
Andy takes Woody with him but keeps the rest of the toys in the attic. Growing up has pain, and Andy passes his toys to Bonni, which becomes the sad part.
4. Cute Aliens
It would be best if you witnessed the cute aliens in the Toy Story movie, who are both unique on their terms and adorable to watch. These aliens appear in all films and help when Buzz and Woody they trapped the duo at Pizza Planet.
These creatures had a significant role to play, and every time they came, kids loved the scenes making them one of the most loved characters in Toy Story.
3. Buzz Lightyear
Buzz Lightyear has always given the audience some iconic moments and bears solid confidence that is a great thing to watch. His realization is profound when he understands Woody’s words and realizes he is a mere toy. He is also a funny character in Toy Story and gives several pleasure to the fans. He also develops a relationship with Jessie; this character’s journey is splendid.
You might also know that his Pixar film, Light Year, is also there. He fails to fly but at least falls with style.
2. Jessie
Jessie is a great character; watching her helps us learn about many things. She is a cowgirl who is full of optimism. Her journey has also been traumatizing and a bit tragic, but she has always handled situations with utmost calmness and devotion.
She is a signature Pixar character designer and one of the best characters in Toy Story. She did not appear in the first movie, yet she has received much praise and attention.
1. Woody
Woody is the perfect example of a friend and the main hero among the toys. Everyone has a favorite toy; he is his favorite, An,dy. He is brave, loyal, simple, loving, and much more. Everyone makes mistakes,s and so does he. He becomes jealous so quickly,y but in the end, he knows what is wrong and right and sticks with the right,t, making him the most actual hero.
The voice actor of this toy, Tom Hanks, shares a great relationship with Andy. He had to choose Bonnie or Bo Peep, he had confused, but with the aid of Buzz Lightyear, he decided to stay with Bo. It might seem shocking and disheartening, but we all know it is what he wants and his decision that everyone should respect.
