The JK Rowling universe never fails to entertain us when things are down. Fantastic Beasts 3 is the third installation in a five-part movie series based on JK Rowling’s prequel to the Harry Potter franchise, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. So far, two movies have already been released, and the third one is set to be released.
Set six decades before the Boy Who Lived was born, the first movie revolves around the adventures of Newton Scamander, a lauded Magizoologist and an aspiring author, as he sets out to find the dangerous magical creatures that were unknowingly set free from his suitcase by a No-Maj (Muggle) named Jacob Kowalski, into the city. It is set in New York in 1926, and the entirety of the movie spans two days.
The second movie, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald,” focuses on the most powerful Dark wizard of the time, Gellert Grindelwald, as he builds a powerful army towards his villainous cause to control all non-magical beings and instate wizards at the top. However, only Albus Dumbledore, a former best friend, and lover can stop Grindelwald. Dumbledore requires help from Newt Scamander, once his student and an influential ally.
It has been nearly four years since the second movie, Crimes Of Grindelwald, was released in 2018. Unfortunately, it was highly criticized by both fans and critics and was the lowest-grossing film in Harry Potter Universe. However, Warner Bros has a lot of compensation in the new movie, and hopefully, we might not be disappointed again.
Official Release Date
After being delayed due to the global pandemic and controversies, the release date for Fantastic Beasts 3 has been is announced to be July 15, 2022. It has been reported that Fantastic Beasts 3 has taken so much time because it will be bigger than the first two movies combined and have a more precise and better script with Rowling and Steve Cloves acting as primary writers. However, a definitive title still hasn’t been made public. We look forward to seeing a jaw-dropping trailer that gives us more clarity about the exciting third movie.
Expected Storyline
The third movie will take place in Brazil in 1939, some years before World War 2. It will be 12 years after the second movie, Crimes Of Grindelwald, and will feature Grindelwald and Dumbledore’s consequential duel, where the former is defeated. The new movie will pick up where the previous one ended, as Grindelwald manages to gather a huge entourage for his cause. One of Newt’s magical creatures, the Niffler, steals the blood pact between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, and we will likely notice Newt and friends searching for the stolen item that will slow down Dumbledore to duel Grindelwald. The World War, Hitler, and the Nazis will also be somehow related and provide a complex layer to the story.
Expected Cast and Characters
Unfortunately, Johnny Depp was asked to se to step out of the role of Gellert Grindelwald after losing a court case against a UK Newspaper. Still, Hannibal’s extremely talented Mads Mikkelsen has been decided to be the replacement. As a result, we expect to see the original cast of the first two movies reprise their roles yet again, Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander.
Jude Law will continue to give life to the character of young Albus Dumbledore, Ezra Miller will fight as Credence Barebone, and Claudia Kim will come back as Nagini. JK Rowling is very excited for Jessica Williams, who played Professor Lally as the character will have central importance, and her “true glory” will be revealed.
