The 1990s released sitcom Frasier can be watched on Hulu, Vudu, Apple TV and Peacock. Originally the show was telecasted on NBC from September 1993 to May 2004. The series went on for 11 long seasons. Every season has a total of 24 episodes each. The series is a spinoff series of the series Cheers. Cheers, too, had 11 seasons and were telecasted from 1982-to 1993.
Both sitcoms were popular among viewers, but the spinoff series Frasier was somewhat more popular and loved according to ratings. Over the years, Frasier won 130 awards and had 276 nominations which is huge and too good for a series. This itself proves how much the audience loved the series. Many fans are still found admitting the series to be their all-time favorite.
Storyline
The story revolves around a psychiatrist living in Boston named Frasier Crane. After his divorce from his wife, he decides to start afresh by moving back to his hometown with his father, Martin Crane, who was a retired police officer and was weak with injuries and oldness. As a result, he also shared his space with his father’s caretaker and physical therapist, Daphne Moon.
He started working as a radio psychiatrist and started spreading his knowledge and wisdom of his discipline to the world. He then chooses a different job option by trying out his luck on the radio. Nothing comes easy with his new life as he has to deal with many things, from reconnecting with his ‘not so good’ younger brother Niles Crane to dealing with new friends, colleagues and people around. The series also shows how he forms a close friendship with Roz Doyle’s producer.
How does the Series End?
The series had a perfect ending but left fans wondering what will happen next, or will their favorite, Dr. Frasier Crane has a happy ending? In the last episode, Frasier decides to take a new TV job in San Francisco, but his plane is shown to have landed in Chicago, where his lady love Charlotte lived. The story ends, leaving the fans wondering if he finally prioritizes his love life.
In the initial seasons, it was portrayed how Dr. Frasier, even after being a psychiatrist, had emotional issues which he couldn’t solve. He used his career as a way to ignore his emotions. The end showing him landing in Chicago instead of San Francisco depicts his character development and gives his relationship with Charlotte a chance. If this is not the happiest ending, then what is!
