Lethal Weapon is an American buddy cop action film. The film was released on 6 March 1987. Richard Donner is the director and co-producer of the film. The writer of the film is Shane Black. Its running time is 110 minutes. The budget of the film was $15 million, and the box office collection was $120.2 million. Television series was also made on this film. The series has three sequels.
The film has also been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Sound.
The story of the film is quite interesting. A police detective of Los Angeles whose name is Martin Riggs. His wife’s death caused him a deep trauma. He started to become reckless and was having suicidal tendencies. After a few days, he is reassigned and is asked to work in a team with Roger Murtaugh. Riggs started to have clashes with other officers. He started to work with his partner, and together they solved many big cases. First, they solved and uncovered a big drug trafficking group. They started to see an increase in encounters with dangerous situations.
As they were only solving the cases alone, they both started to make a good bond together. The volatile nature of Riggs used to help them with the criminals. They came so close that Riggs came out of the trauma. On Christmas, he visited his wives grave. He shared his meal with Murtaugh and his family. He presented him point bullet, which he was saving to commit suicide.
