Released on the 22nf of June this year, i.e., 2022, Snowflake Mountain is an original reality series, launched by Netflix.
This new series is about 10 entitled and rich kids who live a life of luxury being sent on a wilderness survival haven by their family and friends. Therein, the youngsters try to make it through the realities of life and experience the not-so-comfortable lifestyle that they have neither seen nor are used to live.
These Millennials are looked over and observed by two people – Matt Tate, a former navy officer, and Joel Graves, a former army combat engineer. But looking over the contestants is not all they do. The two also have the power to punish those who choose not to follow their advice.
What’s more, they are stripped of access to their beloved Wi-Fi, have no running water, and have no parents to fulfill their whims and demands.
The winner of this competition is to be crowned the Ultimate Wilderness Champion and will win a cash prize of 50,000 dollars.
Where is Snowflake Mountain Filmed?
The show has been filmed in the UK, in a self-contained mountain area with narrow and lustrous valleys, steep falls, and a lake that make it extraordinarily beautiful. This place is brimming with history and culture.
This area has also been described by famous poets like William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Robert Southey.
However, this picturesque mountain also makes up for a difficult area to reside in due to the imminent dangers of the wild and lack of technology for the contestants.
But how were the producers able to convince the 10 rich kids to leave behind their luxuries for such a place? Well, they did not. These millennials were tricked by their parents and friends and were sent under the guise of being sent on holidays or for a vacation.
Well, it may turn out to be a vacation for some. A nightmare for others.
Who left the show?
With this show taking their normal lives away from the 10 Millennials, albeit, for a few days only, the audience did guess that not all of them would be able to withstand such conditions.
In the first episode itself, Olivia, aged 25, who hailed from Ohio, dropped out of the competition. She expressed her delight to Matt and Joel at being able to witness the realities and hardships of life, even if it were only for one episode.
But she could not continue and hence, left in the first episode itself.
Who was changed by the show?
Liam Brown, in an interview, confessed that the show had definitely changed him for the better.
He further added that he basically needed a reality check. After the realization that they had all been duped for coming into the show, he had to adjust to the new lifestyle that was thrown at him.
He further talked about how after doing the show, he’s now living the life he has always wanted to.
