Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is a forthcoming horror survival American movie directed as well as written by Johannes Roberts. The storyline has been adapted by the first and second Resident Evil games, and this is the seventh movie of the series, and it will be acting as the reboot of the Resident Evil film series.
Speculation from the New Trailer
With only a few days to go, Sony Movies has released a new trailer for the new Resident Evil movie, which is labeled as Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. This trailer has formed a lot of anticipation in the fans of the game and the film. The trailer has been labeled as ‘Nightmare,’ and in the trailer, we can see that the movie will be set in a 1998 world where a number of horrifying creatures can be seen.
This trailer explores the spine-chilling and gruesome experiments by the Umbrella Corporation conducted on the innocent people of Raccoon City. The trailer starts off in an orphanage where we can see a pale-faced Lisa Trevor, and we get a teaser of how far the experiments of this evil corporation have been going on. In another shot, we get to see Claire Redfield, who noticed that Umbrella Corporation has been working harder than before, and get to see a closer look in Raccoon City.
Also, through glimpses of Dr. William Birkin, who was working on a mangled body and was looking at some old reels, this shows that this mutation and sickness result from years of testing on people of the city, and even the children were not spared. The way this trailer has been shot is more of a traditional trailer for a horror movie that has quick cuts and jumps scares, and it has creepy horror audio that will create tension.
This sequel of the Resident Evil movie has scarier monsters, and they do not act like fodder to glorify the movie’s protagonists. People who have played the Resident Evil games would know that this movie has several video game references. For instance, when Claire Redfield sees a zombie behind glass, we see an “Itchy, tasty” note written in blood on the window. All these things and references from the game of the franchise is making people excited for the movie.
