Superhero comic books were an inseparable part of their lives for the 70s or 80s or 90s born children. Be it DC or Marvel, the superhero universe created by these two publication houses has a huge and loyal fan following worldwide. While DC introduced superheroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, Marvel brought their own superheroes into the market, which includes Spiderman, Ironman, and Black Widow.
After the introduction of Marvel in 1961, the superhero universe gained momentum, and the world witnessed the first full-length feature film of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Iron Man, in 2008. From May 2008 to July 2021, 23 MCU films have found their way to cinemas, and one film managed to get an OTT screen. And to carry the legacy forward came the latest MCU film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, a treat for cinema lovers.
Synopsis
Shang-Chi, the son of the leader of Ten Rings Organization Xu Wenwu, lives in San Francisco as “Shaun” as a valet after witnessing the heinous crimes of his father and his organization. However, destiny brings him back to his father as a prisoner of Ten Rings and his best friend, Katy, and sister Xialing. With the help of Morris, the trio managed to return to Ta Lao, their village, where Wenwu threatened to create havoc to “bring back” his dead wife, Ying Li.
The gang reached Ta Lao before Wenwu. They meet Ying Nan, Li’s sister, who narrates the tale of soul-consuming Dweller-in-Darkness, who was defeated and sealed by the Great Protector of the village. Nan believes that Dweller-in-Darkness is manipulating Wenwu, so he opens the sealed gate to regain his power.
The lead trio train hard for the upcoming battle. Will Shang-Chi and the gang be able to stand against two mighty villains? Writer Dave Callaham answered it most extravagantly in the climax.

While the critics lauded the film for its impeccable storyline, next-to-perfect casting, and engaging screenplay, they criticized the CGI of the film, which seemed childish, silly, and dragging.
