The show is about the childhood friends group who call themselves Sweet Magnolias and how they shepherd one another through the complexities of life such as family, romance and career. Anderson told TVLine during an interview that they referred to the books that have been already written for season one, but for season two, they will add certain things in the scenes and characters for the need of the show.
