The Righteous Gemstones, one of the super hit series of HBO Max, has finally returned with season 2 after a long time. Before the show’s premiere, the trailer had already been released for the fans to have a glimpse of the upcoming season.
The storyline follows Gemstones, an incredibly rich family who have obtained fame and money through the Christian church that shares their name, are the subject of “The Righteous Gemstones,” an ensemble piece. As they attempt to build their corporation, the comedy explores all of the challenges they experience as a household within their family and community.

Season 2 Release Date
Season 2 of this most awaited show will finally air on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at 10 p.m. EST. The show will premiere on HBO Max on Sunday. Season 1 of the series ended in November of 2019; hence it was once thought that the series would resume in Spring 2020.
However, the virus delayed production. Righteous Gemstones was halted manufacturing in March 2020, according to a Tmz piece from April 2020, as the disease spread.
Season 2 Plot
As season one did not end with any cliffhangers, it left quite a little space for the storyline to continue. But from the trailer of season two, we can see that season will be full of twists, turns, and thrillers. Eli removes Jesse, Judy, and Kelvin from their positions in the church upon eventually understanding what his children have mostly been up to.
Kelvin realizes he made a mistake with Keefe, who became oppressed by his Satanic goth circle and returned to reconcile with him. Judy reveals her history to BJ; Jesse continues to try to save his relationship with Amber. She insists the only way she’ll stay with him would be if he can bring his child back, but Jesse fails, and their relationship comes to an end. It would be interesting to see in Season 2 how their story unfolds.

Most of the faces of the first season are expected to continue in the show’s second season as well. Season 2 will also be including Jason Schwartzman and Eric Roberts in the show. We will continue to see Danny McBride playing the role of Jesse Gemstone. In the series, John Goodman as Dr. Eli Gemstone and Adam DeVine as Kelvin Gemstone. Season 2 will also feature Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone in the show.
