Created by Alexi Hawley for ABC, The Rookie is an American television series based on police crime. The first season premiered on October 16, 2018; the show’s massive success has led to the show being renewed for a fourth season now. The first episode of the fourth season aired on September 26, 2021.
Recapitulating Episode 1
The episode began with solving the cliff-hanger of the previous season, where we witnessed West and Lopez’s kidnap. After a thorough search and looking through the CCTV cameras, West was announced dead, but there was a faint hope of Lopez being alive. The season two final episode shed light on La Fierra’s team responsible for kidnapping Lopez and rescuing Fierra. According to Wes’ theory, Fierra is using the skyway to transport Lopez to her compound.
Wes was desperate to find the place where the compound was situated, and he was successful in doing so. Sergeant Grey warned the team about the casualties that might come face-to-face once they reached the location. The search team had to figure out a way to rescue their colleague and friend.
Wes decided to take all necessary actions on his own and decided to strike a deal with Fierra. Even though Fierra initially agreed, but he had hidden plans of killing Wes. The episode ended with Nolan’s timely appearance and successfully saving Wes’ life. The team safely made it to the helicopter. In a short time, a lapse of three months, Wes and his wife had a baby and were named Jackson after Officer West.
The Expected Plot of Episode 2
The second episode of the fourth season, named ‘Five Minutes’, is all set to release on 3 October 2021. The episode is expected to see a thief, who is famous for wrong reasons, and Officer Nolan and Chen are alerted about his arrival. This arrival is linked with Getty’s gala event, where they had planned a heist.
This episode will show some brain-chilling smart theft which is expected to be a treat for the audience. Whilst all the tension is going on at the police forefront, Nolan was trying to figure out ways to ask Bailey out for a romantic date. Since the third season, he was planning to do so, finally decided to bring his plans into action.
Cast
We have actor Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, who decided to change his career at 45 and become a police officer. In the role of Angela Lopez, we see actor Alyssa Diaz. We will see Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen, briefly involved with Nolan in a romantic relationship. Still, the relationship, unfortunately, did not work out, and both parted ways but remained as work friends.
In other roles, we will see Titus Makin Jr. as Jackson West, actor Richard T. Jones cast as Wade Grey, and a few more.
Conclusion
The show has a 6.3/10 rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 22 critical reviews. Metacritic feels that the show falls on the above-average side. Overall, the series is a thrilling experience with exciting new cases.
