Thor: Love and Thunder – Release Date
The movie is confirmed to be released on July 8, 2022, in the theatres. Chris Hemsworth took it to Instagram to officially confirm that the filming of the movie has finally reached its ending.
Originally, the movie was scheduled to release on November 5, 2021, marking the end of Marvel Phase 4. But, due to the pandemic, the release of Black Widow was delayed and so, the release of Thor: Love and Thunder were pushed to February 18, 2022. However, the movie faced further delays and the official release dates finally landed on July 8, 2022. Hopefully, the movie won’t face another reschedule.
Why Are Fans So Amped Up?
Thor: Love and Thunder are some of the most anticipated movies of the Marvel Universe. The movie has a definite Guardians of the Galaxy crossover, and there are chances that the movie will have a whole Avengers movie vibe. Another important development is the role of Zeus in the movie, fans are excited to see the double thunder. The villain of the movie ‘Gorr the God Butcher’ is most likely to play out as Marvel’s version of Kratos.
With a seven-month delay, the movie will hit the theatres in July.
Cast
Chris Hemsworth will be back to play the role of Thor. Many allies introduced in the previous Thor movies will also make an appearance to help Thor. The cast of the movie includes Tessa Thompson who will reprise the role of Valkyrie, the new leader of Asgard, and Natalie Portman will come back as Jane Foster, but unfortunately, the movie won’t bring back Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
The cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy will make an appearance as well – Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord), Dave Bautista (Drax), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Vin Diesel (Groot), and Sean Gunn (Kraglin). But, there is no confirmed news on the return of Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) with the rest of the cast.
The other important cast includes Taika Waititi (Korg), Jeff Goldblum (The Grandmaster), Jaime Alexander (Sif), and Russell Crowe (Zeus).
Thor: Love and Thunder – Plot
What can we expect from the new Thorquel movie? There are many reveals such as Waititi drawing his inspiration while making the movie from The Mighty Thor. Corg will search for love across space, Jane Foster wields her version of Mjolnir, and there is also a plot reveal of Valkyrie searching for a partner to rule Asgard with.
We can speculate many things about the movie from The Mighty Thor. Also, Jane wielding Thor’s hammer can also mean that Thor is no longer capable of wielding it. There is also a possibility that Jane Foster is from another universe (as from the concept of Doctor Strange’s Multiverse movie).
