A show about misadventures in space, Rick and Morty does not seem to lose steam. Created by talented Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the show aired in 2013. In 2018 news broke that Rick and Morty would be here to stay for long. With the producers sanctioning a new deal of 70 episodes. These will be released over an unspecified number of seasons, and Season 4 was part of it.
That all but confirms the future of the series. However, as for the release of the fifth season, there is no news as such.
The writers of the show have earned a notorious reputation of not sticking to the schedule. With the pandemic not helping them the least. Given the innumerable easter eggs and foreshadowing hidden in every scene of the show, delays in writing are expected. And seeing the end-product, not many fans complain about it.
Despite their meticulous process, Harmon and Roiland were hoping to bring out Season 5 as early as possible. With the team having started working on it even while the fourth season was still running. But with writing done over video calls, creativity does suffer. And with no confirmed dates, fans will have to be patient once more with the series.

The show will of course return, with most of its cast intact. It helps that Roiland, himself will voice half of the characters appearing on the screen. Joining him once again will be the fan-favourite voices of Sarah Chalke and Chris Parnell.

Season 5 might also break the mystery surrounding Beth’s mother. Fans deserve to know about her by now and they might as well in this season. Otherwise, there is going to be no shortage of smart, cheeky and thinly-veiled jokes on the show. It is expected to continue on its regular unapologetic way.
