When Gabrielle Union’s husband, Dwayne Wade, conceived a child with another woman, she revealed that she was devastated and felt like someone had ripped her into pieces.
Gabrielle is Devastated
The “Breaking In” actress and the 39-year-old former professional basketball player started dating back in the year 2008. Still, it later ended their relationship in the year 2013, at which time Dwayne was the father to a child that he shared with reality star Aja Metoyer, who is 38 years old. Gabrielle explained that Dwyane had a baby with another woman back in the year 2013 before they were married.
She went on to say that the duo was not in a good situation at the time when that child was conceived. She also revealed that the pair was in a much better place when Dwayne finally told her about the pregnancy.
Gabrielle also mentioned that after hearing the shocking news, she felt devastated. In her new book, Gabrielle has also discussed the couple’s choice to go through with surrogacy, implying that a successful pregnancy was required to save her marriage.

Gabrielle had suffered more miscarriages than she could accurately count. When she found the news of the pregnancy, it was difficult to accept so soon, especially after the pair went through a breakup.
Gabrielle said that the experience of her husband, Dwayne having a baby so simply, while she was unable to, left her spirit not only crushed but shattered into fine dust scattered in the wind. After working through their challenges, the pair reunited and married in August of the year 2014.
Later, in the year 2018, they welcomed their child via surrogacy. Gabrielle’s stepchildren Dahveon, 20 years old, Zaire, 19 years old, Zay, 13 years old, and Xavier, 7 years old, are presently raising Kaavia James Union Wade, who is 2 years old.
