For those of you who have issues remembering cast names, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc are none other than Chandler Bing and Joey Tribbiani from the long-running, crowd-loved sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S. While the fans have always, and will always, see Joey and Chandler as the super-close roommates who have a bunch of affection for each other, this new rumor about their apparent feud has let us all wonder if Matt and Matthew’s affection for each other does really exist?

Matthew Perry is all set to release his book, a memoir, ‘Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing’, soon. And there is more than one cast member from F.R.I.E.N.D.S who is worried about all the secrets that may come out with the release of this book. According to multiple reports, Jennifer Aniston is worried and ‘anxious’ about juicy details, about her long-finished marriage with Brad Pitt, coming to light with the release of this book.
But, what does this book have to do with the feud between Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc? According to insiders, the book is all set to out the issues that Matthew has had with Matt for a long time now. These sources have also gone so far as to claim that Matthew Perry will ‘not be pulling any punches and that what Matt LeBlanc did is still stinging him to this day.
So, What About the F.R.I.E.N.D.S Reunion?
If you are wondering about how all seemed well in Friends: The Reunion, which was released less than a year ago, it seems to be one unexplained aspect in light of this new feud.
With the sextet taking to this unscripted chance to relive the times as Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, and Ross, things seemed to be all well between them. They took a trip down memory lane and had the first chance, since the show ended in 2004, to meet at the originals sets to reminisce.
But, it seems all is not as well as the sextet made it out to be during the much-awaited reunion.
What Really is the Issue?
Sources report that Matthew Perry is not the only other cast member who has an issue with Matt LeBlanc and what he did. It seems that all of the other cast members of the sextet share these feelings towards him.
Reports from the insider claim that this feud between them first began when Matt LeBlanc starred in the spin-off Joey, on which none of the original cast members appeared. The show barely got any viewership despite being a spin-off from a crowd favorite like F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
This, however, hasn’t stopped Matthew Perry and the other cast members from holding it against Matt LeBlanc for going behind their back and doing something solely for himself. The insider claims that Perry and the rest of the cast feel betrayed by the moves that LeBlanc made with this spinoff.
They also mentioned that ‘Matt is in for a rude awakening; and that Matthew Perry after 18 years still feels the sting of Joey and that while he didn’t bring it up at the reunion last year he is all set to ‘set the records straight’.
It is worth noting that this would not be the first time that these rumors have surfaced. They’ve been popping up now and again since Joey was first released in 2004. And maybe with the release of this book, the ‘records will (finally!) be set straight’, one way or another.
What Do Rest of the Cast And Perry And LeBlanc Have to Say?
There has been no official statement from any of the members involved. But sources report them mentioning how they still have a love for each other. And that if they ever unknowingly bump into each other at a party or an event the ‘night is over’ as they end up spending the rest of the night with them and talking about old times.
Other than this there have been several posts and comments over the years that make us wonder if this rumor is just not true.
When Matthew Perry made his playwriting debut, Matt LeBlanc was there to support him. He later posted a photo on Instagram of him and Matthew Perry, with the caption, “Went to see ‘The End of Longing’ last night and ran into this dude”.
Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox also made several comments about how they share the occasional dinner as a group and how they also end up laughing so hard at the end of the night.
With these opposing sides of the story coming out from various sources, fans are left wondering what the truth really is.
One More Reunion?
One more thing that fans are wondering about is if there is going to be another Friends Reunion, with these rumors and/or allegations coming to light.
With these conflicting reports coming in from various sides, fans will have to wait for Matthew Perry’s memoir Lovers, Friends, and The Big Terrible Thing; or an official statement from one of the two people involved to confirm or deny these allegations. And until then maybe, ‘one more episode’ of our beloved F.R.I.E.N.D.S, is the way to keep us all going?
