We got to jump right back into Lola Carmichael’s world tonight on the All Rise season 3 premiere, but one thing is significantly different. We’re referring to the actor who plays the character’s spouse Robin. Todd Williams played this character for the first two seasons of the OWN series. However, Christian Keyes took over the part in tonight’s show. His previous credits include Legends of Tomorrow and The Boys, and recastings can occur for a variety of reasons. Often, it boils down to time constraints or creative requirements. (Williams has been busy on another project).
In the end, we believe Keyes will continue to play this part for some time; after all, we don’t think OWN will want to cast another actor in this role in the future. We believe that we will see more of Robin during season 3, primarily because there is an opportunity to examine his connection with Lola and, beyond that, her life outside of the courtroom in general. It wasn’t as pervasive during Season 2 as it was in Season 1.
About Todd Williams
Todd Williams’ face is one you’ve certainly seen multiple times if you’re a TV watcher. He has appeared in a broad range of productions during his career, but he is most recognized for his appearances in the TV series In Plain Sight and Chicago Code. He has lately received considerable acclaim for his performance in the CBS series All Rise. Unfortunately, All Rise was just revealed to be discontinued after its second season. Todd’s admirers, on the other hand, need not fear. He is already working on another project. He will star in the new TV series Panic, which has a lot of people excited about its arrival.
Every actor has to start someplace, and Todd Williams’ place was in the realm of advertisements. Todd got his foot in the door early in his career by performing commercials and voice-over work. His major break came in 2001 when he secured a role in the film Lift.
Todd joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries in 2012 after the program had already aired for many seasons. Todd, on the other hand, said in an interview with Uproxx that he had never seen the program before becoming a part of it. When he landed the part, he binge-watched the previous three seasons to have a better understanding of what the program was about.
Why did Todd Williams leave All Rise?
Robin is a very standard figure, but Williams imbued him with individuality.
It was recently announced that All Rise would be canceled after its second season. Todd got many projects and started a new one, He is already working on the new upcoming TV series Panic for which fans are eagerly waiting and equally excited.
Though fans are tweeting and demanding to bring Todd Williams back into the show, they can’t relate to the opening romantic scene between Laura and Robin as the cast has been changed now.
All Rise recasting Robin Taylor
That’s a significant change for the show, as Robin is one of its most prominent recurring characters. He is Lola Carmichael’s husband and a former FBI agent who has become a stay-at-home parent to their small daughter. All Rise can’t just operate around him, which is why the network announced in February that Christian Keyes had replaced Williams (who had recurred on The Boys as Nathan Franklin). Recasts happen all the time, but this one has the potential to have a significant influence on an already excellent show.
We think that during the process of recasting Robin, the program was probably prioritizing a few things. They were looking for someone who would have great chemistry with Simone Missick as well as be the greatest performer overall; it wasn’t necessary to find someone who looked exactly like the original actor. That’s usually the case when a program goes through anything like this. There are a few famous examples on television; indeed, Game of Thrones did it several times!
