Daughter From Another Mother is a Mexican television series. The story shows us two mothers whose babies are switched at birth. The two mothers have to come together to form one family unit to bring up their daughters. The show first aired on the 20th of January, 2021. Here is the mother’s ring you must see.
It was later renewed for a second season on the 24th of December, 2021. Even though the whole idea of switched at birth has practically been milked too far by media, this story is praised for the way it tells a story and the style of acting and filming.
Is Season 3 going to be a thing?
Daughter From Another Mother Season 2 hit the top ten charts on Netflix for non-English content not very long after its release. However, the viewership from the first season had dropped significantly. The first season saw around 23 million views while the second only saw about 13 million.
These might both seem like rather large numbers but Netflix takes viewership very seriously and there is a huge drop. Though the drop in viewership is significant 13 million views is still a lot. Netflix might still renew the show, but we have no official word yet.
What we might see in Season 3
Season 2 left a lot of loose ends that people hope to see connected in the new season. The season also ended with a massive cliffhanger and a significant plot twist. Ana has to keep some distance from Mariana during the divorce proceedings. But there is a new development in their relationship.
The two share a kiss in the end, maybe hinting that they may be romantically involved. For the third season this will surely be a significant chunk of story to tell, exploring a new development many did not see coming.
Other loose ends will also need to be tied all while showing us the two mothers doing their best for their daughters. There is no lack of content with so much left to be answered and this new development. There are so many angles to explore and so much character development left.
If a renewal does happen, the new season will surely have a diverse range of things for us to watch developing the story and also the characters at the same time. Character development could be a major part as it brings life to the story.
The Cast
If renewed the series will continue to cast Ludwika Paleta as Ana Servin and Paula Goto is expected to play Mariana Herrera just like the previous seasons. We might also see Oka Giner as Elena, Martin Altomaro as Juan Carlos, Javier Ponce as Pablo Sandoval and Liz Gallardo as Teresa. The cast was the best part about the show so I don’t see much reason for them to warrant a change.
Release Date and Where to Watch
With the first two seasons not even being separated by a year gap if the show is renewed it will probably air late this year or early on next year. Season 3 would also be available on Netflix. Both the other seasons are currently available to stream on the platform.
