Sorokin was freed from prison early from the Albion Correctional Facility after completing almost 4 years of her jail term. Following her discharge, the German national immediately started reactivating her online networking sites and posted photographs of herself enjoying what looked to be a wealthy life once more.

Where is She Now?

After her discharge from the hospital, Sorokin told the publication that she had received several media inquiries but had finally engaged her director to take charge of her narrative. “I’m publishing my textbook, I got my NFT initiative, I have my merchandise, and I’m working on jail reformation,” she explained at the moment. “I’m attempting to channel the exposure I’m receiving into something productive.”

She was arrested by ICE in late March 2021 for staying in the country on her visa. The New York Post reported positive month that she’s being kept at a prison in Bergen County, New Jersey. According to several sources, Sorokin is currently being detained while awaiting deportation to Germany.

From 2013 until 2017, Delvey pretended to be an affluent German heiress who had come to New York City to establish an upmarket arts organization and perform complex. She also claimed to be wealthy, tens of millions of dollars at the time, and others she met in the nightlife scene started to realize her and were persuaded to pay the cost for her numerous trips.

What did Anna Delvey Do?

Sorokin was guilty in 2019 of two charges of planned first-degree embezzlement, 3 charges of grand larceny in the graduate program, one offense of grand larceny in the 3rd degree, and one case of misdemeanor criminal fraud.

During her scheme, she took more than $275,000 from many pals, and she allegedly faked financial records to obtain a $22 million bank loan. However, she was not acquitted of additional crimes connected to the loan from a bank or taking money from previous Vanity Fair reporter Rachel Williams throughout a luxurious vacation to Marrakesh, which the author documented in an essay for publication.

She was convicted for 4 to 12 years in jail and was freed in February 2021 for proper behavior. When she was freed, she was likely to reap some of the benefits of the contract she struck with Netflix, which produced a nine-episode miniseries featuring Julia Garner about her.

The series would remake on the network on February 11, 2022. The online company paid her $320,000 for the licenses. Still, Sorokin’s sufferers received first rights on the proceeds owing to a New York statute that forbids offenders from benefiting from media attention.

She later stated that the public persona she was given resulted from the trial. “The trial completely misconstrued my objectives,” she told the BBC before. “They say I strolled about New York, pretending as an heiress. What transpired was completely between me and investment firms; it had nothing to do with them. They depicted me as a want to be socialite mean girl, which was never my intention.”
