Coach Carter is based on the true-life story of Kenny Ray Carter. The story involves how Kenny became a coach of the basketball team at Richmond High and changed the lives of many youngsters. He highlighted the importance of academics in a student’s life.

He believed that a student-athlete must fulfill the role of a student first. His idealogy about excellent academic scores stemmed from his childhood experiences. He loved basketball and understood the significance of education which developed his personality.

The movie depicts how Kenny imposed a temporary ban on his students when they failed to achieve the moral standards of academics. His methodology was highly shunned by the students and their parents. However, his stern personality and efforts yielded positive development for students. Everyone praised him warmly for his efforts towards the student.

Kenny Ray Carter grew up in a loving family in the United States. He always knew the significance of academics in a student’s life and solely focused on it.
