Adapted from R.L Stein’s horror book series in the same name, Goosebumps is an American scary comedy that released its two installments- first on October 16, 2015, and the second one on October 12, 2018. Both the installments managed to gather good reviews from the critics as well as the audience.
The direction has been done by Rob Letterman, while adaptation has been credited to Darren Lemke. Deborah Forte and Neal H. Moritz have looked after the production which stars Jack Black playing R.L Stine, Dylan Minnette playing Zachary Cooper, Amy Ryan playing Gale Cooper, Jillian Bell playing Lorraine Conyers, Ryan Lee playing Champ, and Odeya Rush playing Hannah Stine, among others.
When can We Expect Goosebumps 3 to be Out?
To the utter dejection of the fans, Goosebumps 3 wouldn’t be available for viewing any time soon now. The project appears to have been not working out and is stuck in an ignored phase of production. Since the success of its 2018 edition became a success post its release, the story turned out unworthy, and the creators dropped the idea to move any further with it.
Thus, the fans would not expect the sequel to the horror series again, unlike the ventures like Fear Street, which will have its trilogy released. Till now, as no further updates have been out by either Sony Pictures or Columbia Pictures and Fear Street got its release in 2021, certainly, the film won’t work until 2023.
But also since the previous two releases also took a lot of time to become available on screens (first being purchased by Columbia Pictures in 2008 and released in 2015 and second being out after three years in 2018 after its renewal in 2015), the current installment which hasn’t even begun filming will take severely long if ever planned to be made.
The Possible Storyline of Goosebumps 3
If the third edition is ever planned to be created, then the story will again be made based on Stine’s book series, which were used to create the first two seasons as well and offers plenty of content for creation. We were able to witness in the initial two installments Slappy the Dummy (Night of the Living Dummy). Thus, it can be safely said that if Goosebumps 3 is ever given the green light, then a story based on the above series will be its safest resort.
What is Goosebumps All About?
The movie focuses on the protagonist Zach Cooper who wasn’t happy shifting to a small town from a big city and finds it tough to adjust. However, he finds a ray of hope when he meets his neighbor Hannah Stine, who happens to be the daughter of R.L Stine, author of the popular Goosebumps series. But the real problem arises when Zach, by mistake, releases the monsters from the tales, and now the trio- Zach, Stine, and Hannah will have to find ways to put the monsters back in their place.
