The film Greenland encircled the struggle of John Garrity and his family to escape from being hit by comets which are expected to hit Earth soon. As the plot proceeds, it seems to change into a struggle for survival during a dire crisis. The film includes several genres: action, disaster, thriller, sci-fi, mystery, and adventure. It imbued the audience with a sense of fear and excitement and aroused interest to look for a sequel.
During the pandemic, it was worthwhile watching and made headlines as soon as it was released in 2020, grossing $53.5 million, almost double the budget of $35 million. The film somehow went according to the prevalent crisis during the pandemic so that people can easily relate to what it feels like when you know your end might be near.
Rumored Release Date of the Sequel of Greenland
It should not be shocking for the fans to know that a movie’s sequel was on its way to entertaining fans since it was a hit. Greenland 2 subtitled “Migration,” can be expected to be released at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
As heard till now, the sequel will enter production the following year, depending on when the major photography begins.

Nothing has yet been officially confirmed, but if rumors are to be believed, it can be assumed that Gerald Butler will be seen as John Garrity and Marlena Baccarin playing his estranged wife, Allison Garrity.
So, the main leading actors will be seen again. It is, however, not sure whether their on-screen child Roger Dale Floyd who played Nathan Garrity, a diabetic child, or even his character, will be back or not. Still, fans believe he should be a part of the sequel since his part did impact the overall Story of the film.
What will be the Story of Greenland 2?
Ric Roman Waugh is all set to make the sequel based on the script by Chris Sparling, who was also in charge of the Story in the preceding film, and this will be the third collaboration between the two.
The Story, as expected, is likely to continue John Garrity and his family’s migration and adventures through several lands to survive from becoming extinct due to the interstellar comet, which hit hard and devastated most of the places on Earth, and their quest for a new home in the cold, barren land of Europe and making a new home and life there.
It is uncertain whether it will be a hit like the previous one, as the former did not provide any story to be followed and ended on a hopeful note. It is not yet confirmed whether there will be any more near-extinction disasters taking place other than the interstellar comet attack.
