The famous British TV baking competition show called Great British Bake Off is currently in the news due to its missing show presenter Noel Fielding. Also known as Bake Off or GBBO, the show is about a bunch of amateur bakers that come as participants in a baking competition.
They have to go through a series of rounds in order to create a good impression on a panel of judges. Every round ends with the elimination of one participant that leads to the final round, where one contestant comes out as the winner.
About The Series’ Release
Episode one of the GBBO came out on August 17, 2010, alongside the broadcasting of its first 4 series on BBC Two. With its exponentially increasing viewership, BBC decided to move it to BBC One by airing the 3 remaining releases. Post the seventh series, Love Productions, responsible for producing Bake-off, made a three-year deal with Channel Four for the broadcast production of the show.
What’s New For This Season?
This time of winter is the peak and the most beautiful time of the year! The fans will now be getting new episodes of The Bake-off: Holidays airing on Netflix. The audience will be given 2 new chapters from The GBBO’s traditional holiday specials, where one will be purely a Christmas themed episode with the another releasing for the new year.
The GBBO’s Stand Up to Cancer special episode has drawn out a major superstars line-up for this year with all on-screen but one. Where it’s a pleasure watching Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, and Matt Lucas getting the best from Rosie, Ruby, and others in there, disappointingly, a top screen face has gone missing from the screens.
What About Noel Fielding?
Noel Fielding, the co-hosts for the show who stands beside Matt Lucas, won’t be seen in this soon to be out “Bake Off” Cancer special. He was already absent in last year’s Christmas episodes, and this time, Noel Fielding is nowhere to be seen for the show’s upcoming Christmas themed episode Holidays special.
Netizens and fans have already begun discussing the probable reasons behind Noel’s disappearance and whether he’ll return to the show again. A part of the audience even believes that Noel will not be coming back for some time and will probably be replaced by Tom Allen.
So Why Did Noel Fielding Disappear From The Show?
From what news had reached the public, it is known that Noel Fielding didn’t get fired from the Bake-off. He will be making an appearance in The GBBO’s Holidays’ second episode which is a New Years’ Day based release. Rumours on social media sites have found people saying, “Oh Noel on #GBBO looked extra pale and now they’ve said he’s not well… Hope #NoelFielding is okay?” all hinting at a possibility of Noel falling sick.
The Mighty Boosh celebrity still hasn’t publicly made a statement for his questioned disappearance from the show. The official Twitter account of the British series made a confirmation online regarding Noel’s comeback by sharing a snapshot from a recent episode.
The picture shows Noel in the tent sitting with co-host Matt and judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. The confirmation tweet read: “The choux must go on! Pastry Week. Tonight. 8pm.”
