Snowpiercer is an American post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller. The show is based on the 2013 movie with the same name and the French novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Jean-MarcRocette, and Benjamin Legrand, which the film was adapted from.
The story follows the passengers of the Snowpiercer, a perpetually moving train that carries the remaining humans seven years after the world ends up as a frozen wasteland.
The production of the show was initially plagued with setbacks due to differences in opinions between the directors and the network. However, it has now seen three seasons, and we are here to talk about the 4th.
When will Season 4 be released?
As of now, no release date has been announced officially by TNT or Netflix for Snowpiercer Season 4. However, with filming having started in March 2022 and expected to end during August 2022, the new season might not be out till early 2023, at the least.
Plot for Season 4
At the end of the third season, we saw the train split between passengers who wanted to stay with Melanie and those who wanted to follow Andre for a new start in New Eden.
Passengers are free to choose their path to the future, and for now, things seem calm. In the final episode, there is a jump to three months after when Melanie finds a missile launch from an unknown location.
Season 4 of Snowpiercer might give us the answer as to what the missile is for. Maybe it’s another attempt to warm the Earth up. We won’t know for sure until we see it. More questions like the fate of each group of passengers and the future of the Earth remain to be answered.
Will life in New Eden be everything the passengers want? Or will life be better on the cars of the Snowpiercer? All these are probably what the final season aims to answer.
Snowpiercer Season 4 Cast
The cast for Snowpiercer Season 4 includes Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Mickey Summer, Iddo Goldberg, Sam Otto, Lena Hall, Sheila Vand, Mike O’Malley, Roberto Urbina, Rowan Blanchard, and Jaylin Fletcher. Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov will also join the cast for this season, but more details about their roles are not known.
How many episodes and Release Patterns?
Like previous seasons there will be at least ten episodes in Season 4. Episodes usually air on TNT first before turning up on Netflix the next day. They air on a weekly basis, with the last season having TNT releases on Mondays. Netflix releases were on Tuesdays at 7 am. Season 4 is expected to follow the same format of release.
Where to Watch
Snowpiercer seasons 1 through 3 are available to stream on Netflix. Season 4 will air on TNT and later on Netflix. I recommend you watch the show. TNT has already announced that this will be the final episode, and the network will be canceling the show after that. In my opinion it is a good enough series to give a watch.
