There are only a handful of bands in the history of rock and roll with the influence and dominance power that Bon Jovi has. It is a rock band based in New Jersey and has been entertaining the fans for more than 40 years, now in those 4 decades, it has built loyal followers worldwide. But now after so many years one of the members who founded the group Alec John Such who was 70 years old passed away on 5th June 2022. He left behind n absolute legacy which was the core part of the band’s base.
With that out of the way in 1994, Alec decided to leave the band after 10 years after its start, why?
Why did Alec John decide to leave the band?
Alec’s departure from the band in the year 1994 was a complete shocker for the fans. Many fans never knew that Alec John was 10 years older than other band members of the Bon Jovi. Because of his age, he felt much more exhausted and burned out than his band mates. In 2000 Alec told Variety that the record company fibbed about his actual age. He was 31 when he entered, 10 years more senior than the other band fellows. Her sister also got irritated because newspapers described her as older but in reality, she was younger than him.
Alec’s had a significant age gap from the rest of the group which took a toll on his performance. He mentioned that at 43 he felt exhausted and burned and did not want to continue. He got into a band because he did not like to work in the first place.
After he left his void in the group was filled by Hugh McDonald. Alec John stayed on sound terms with the band and its stars, In 2018 Alec John was attending when the Bon Jovi was placed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In the event, he mentioned that the band guys are the best they had so many years of good times together and wouldn’t be here if not for them.
After the news of his passing came out, Bon Jovi on Twitter said, Alec was a founder member of the band and was a core part of the formation of the band. He was wild and full of joy and life, these special memories brought smiles and tears to the Bon Jovi band and they will miss him very much.
Alec John’s music career
Alec was born in 1951 in New York and went to become a renowned music figure in New Jersey when the band emerged. Initially, he was part of the band named The message (Richie Sambora). He worked as a manager for Hunka Bunka Ballroom as well. While he worked there he saw Jon Bon and the Wild Ones working there and booked them for the band.
Alec was part of the band from 1983 till 1994. During his tenure of 10 years band gave many hits like Livin’ On A Prayer and You Give Love a Band Name.
