The upcoming superhero movie, The Suicide Squad, has almost arrived. It will enter as the tenth installment in the DCEU. While fans wonder if it is a sequel or reboot to the 2016 Suicide Squad, James Gunn reveals that these two movies are entirely unrelated. Even though a few characters make a reappearance, Gunn claims that the crew is motlier and involves several new entries into the DCEU.
Produced by Peter Safran, he claims that the concept of the upcoming movie is unique. It is a 1970s war movie and displays the talent of James Gunn’s through his characters and comedy. Talking about the plot for the movie, Safran further reveals that the movie features a Nazi-era laboratory and prison called Jotunheim. The characters will be sent to a Latin American island entirely faction and is called Corto Maltese. Gunn thinks that the upcoming movie contradicts the 2016 Suicide Squad in no manner.
Who is in the Cast of the Movie?
The upcoming movie will star Margot Robbie as the spectacular Harley Quinn. Idris Elba stars as Robert DuBois / Bloodsport, a mercenary who driven by the feeling of vengeance after his brother suffers injuries in the Vietnam War. John Cena plays Peacemaker, the guy who believes in the virtue of peace-making. Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag. Sylvester Stallone is the voice actor for King Shark. David Dastmalchian is playing Polka-Dot Man. Viola Davis plays Amanda Waller. Jai Courtney stars as Captain Boomerang, and Peter Capaldi as the Thinker.

On January 30, 2019, Warner Bros announced the date for the movie’s release, The Suicide Squad. It will stream worldwide on a big screen on August 6, 2021. It will also release on the streaming platform HBO Max in the United States.
What is the Plotline of The Suicide Squad?
The supervillains assemble in the movie for a critical mission. The audience will guide through, i.e., Belle Reve, a prison in the US of A with the highest mortality rate. The supervillains kept here, and they are desperate to get out, so much that they are willing to join the secret and shady Task Force X. They need to assemble the cons, namely Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, and Javelin. They are to be armed and dropped in Corto Maltese. It is somewhere on the coast of South America and is a site for rebel uprisings. As the members of Task Force X, they are tasked with the mission of destroying Jotunheim.
The squad embark on a search and destroy mission as they trek through a jungle. They team up with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces as they go deeper into their journey. Colonel Rick Flag tries his best to make them behave. If they take a single wrong step, they all are likely to end up dead.
Based on DC Comics, this superhero movie has a much deeper and engaging plotline. The ensemble cast will bring their bizarre characters to life as they embark on this compelling mission this coming August.
