The last time we all saw the beloved Indiana Jones on the big screen was back in 2007. Naturally, everyone thought that this was his latest adventure. But the excellent news is that Indiana Jones is returning for another adventure yet again! Harrison Ford, at the grand age of 79, will grace the screen in a new adventure.
About the New Film
Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull was initially envisioned as the last film in the series. The new Indiana Jones film will be the first film made without the involvement of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, who served as director and writer respectively for the previous films. Spielberg won’t be returning as director as he wanted to direct different films with a fresh perspective. Spielberg, however, will be returning as a producer.
James Mangold, who is well known for producing films like Walk The Line, Knight and Day, Ford vs. Ferrari, The Wolverine, and Logan, serves as the writer and director of Indiana Jones 5. The film began shooting in June 2021 and is expected to wrap up by early 2022. Indiana Jones 5 will also be the first film in the series that Walt Disney Pictures will distribute. In 2012, Disney acquired LucasFilm, which also got them the rights to Star Wars and Indiana Jones, both of which were created by George Lucas. John Williams, who has composed the music for the previous Indiana Jones films, will be returning to score the fifth film. Williams is also known for scoring the Star Wars films and many of Steven Spielberg’s films.
What is the Plot of Indiana Jones 5?
The details of the film’s plot have not been revealed yet. The film is expected to take place in 1969 when the USA successfully sent astronauts to the moon. A significant part of the film is being shot in London, which means that Britain’s history could be a part of this new adventure.
Who is in the Cast?
Harrison Ford is returning to reprise his role as Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones Jr. The new cast members joining the film include Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Thomas Kretschmann, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Toby Jones, and Boyd Holbrook. Other cast members expected to return include Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood, Indiana Jones’ wife. Shia LaBeouf was scheduled to return as Henry “Mutt” Jones III, Indiana, and Marion’s son.
However, due to recent allegations of sexual harassment and violent behavior against him, LaBeouf will not be returning. John Rhys-Davies may return as Sallah, Indiana Jones’ close friend who was seen in Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade.
When is Indiana Jones 5 Releasing?
As of now, Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to release on July 29th, 2022. The film was first set for release in 2019 but was postponed to 2020 so that Disney could release the live-action remake of The Lion King. It was delayed again twice from 2020 to 2021 and then from 2021 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Is there a Trailer for Indiana Jones 5?
