Sean Olson is one of the best directors in the industry, and because he is a four-time Emmy winner and has directed some of the best movies which people watch even today without getting bored, therefore when people know that he will be directing a film, the expectations would go high. And it happened with this film.
Christmas Wonderland has beautiful and serene scenery, which will leave the audience awestruck, and the arrangement of music was perfect as well because it brought a sense of nostalgia and festivity to us. However, this wasn’t enough to keep the whole movie strong and interesting; several problems made this film look average or even less.
The acting of the entertainers wasn’t high-quality, Emily Osment’s performance was completely lifeless and had no charm, and it felt as if she didn’t want to be there. Moreover, there was no spark or chemistry with Ryan Rottman, who was also dull and uninteresting.
The pace of their relationship was not perfect; it felt as if nothing was happening, and suddenly it was being rushed. The characters of the film are flat as well, and they took too many stupid and unrealistic decisions.
The other excrescence of the film was the cheesy and awkward dialogue writing, and the plot of the film wasn’t different as well. As a result, it was predictable, but there were not too many loose ends which made the film bearable. Overall, it wouldn’t be a memorable or a stand-out in a crowd sort of holiday movie.
