It’s true the world can’t get enough of Tom Holland, as his new movie, Uncharted breaks milestones in Box Office. Already earning a total of $139 million globally (reported by Variety,)
Uncharted is a prequel to the first series of the video game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune by Naughty Dog. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, who has established his name as a great action-adventure genre director. Directing movies like Venom and Zombieland.
Tom Rothman, from Sony Pictures, has declared “Uncharted” as a new movie franchise. This makes it the second franchise for Tom Holland, already starring in Marvel movies as Spiderman.
The action-adventure movie is set to premiere on February 11, 2022, in the UK, February 18, 2022, in the United States, and February 18, 2022, globally, in IMAX 3D, RealD 3D, and Dolby Cinema in the UK.
Plot
A street smart Nathan Drake, acted by Tom Holland in the live-action and voiced by Nolan North in the video game joins arms with the seasoned treasure hunter, Victor Sullivan, played by Mark Wahlberg, in search of the lost treasure of the Magellan Expedition and some lost families.
Nathan Drake is a bartender and a treasure hunter on his own description as he pickpockets “treasures” from his rich customers and although he seems light-hearted and charming, he has his fair share of backstories.
On his journey with Victor, they are rushed and put in danger as the ruthless, Santiago Montego, a notorious millionaire wants the treasure too and will soon prove he is not someone you cross.
Is Uncharted streaming on Netflix?
Unfortunately, Uncharted will only be releasing on theatres and is not available on any of the online streaming platforms. But fret not, as according to the agreement between Netflix and Sony, fans of the movie won’t have to wait much longer before it is released on Netflix.
Will HBO Release Uncharted?
Uncharted is a Sony movie, thus making it extremely unlikely to release on HBO. HBO releases and streams the same day. Whereas, Sony doesn’t release its movies on streaming platforms right after release.
Will Disney+ Release Uncharted?
While an agreement was signed in 2021, it is tricky, as it applies to only some movies which meet the terms. Even if the agreement allows it for streaming on Disney +, it won’t be available for a long long time.
As of now, Uncharted will be releasing on Netflix with the possibility of a Disney+ release. However, it will be accessible for rent or purchase on Google Play, Microsoft Store, iTunes, and Vudu in the future.
