Humans are always treated unequally. Mental trauma, loneliness, work pressure, and several other challenges are all issues that we must cope with. With all of the current uncertainty, though, individuals have simply forgotten to live, pause, and restart.
All of these elements, however, can function in tandem with the presence of love and care in a family, assisting a person in reclaiming their life. Things started to shift. Professor Joss and Daniel, (a widowed father), fall in love in the tranquil British coastal countryside. It’s a story of family, support, and love which nurtures and nourishes each of the characters in this film, assisting them in overcoming their fears and tying them all together with the “presence of love.”
What Is It About?
Loss is a terrible thing; it never completely goes away. It’s a romantic English film in which we meet Joss, an American literature professor who suffers from anxiety as a result of the death of her father in a vehicle accident when she was a child.
She is unable to complete her thesis due to mental anguish and inability to focus on her work. So she takes a break and visits the sheep farm where her mother spent her childhood and which was originally held by her grandparents.
The new farm is owned by a widowed father and a single mother. Her trip to the farm has given the story a fresh twist. She meets with the owner, Daniel (Julian Morris), a single father living with his younger daughter, Tegan (Amy Sharp), who is experiencing mental health problems, finding it difficult to focus on her studies. Tegan shares a good bond with her grandma Merryn (Samantha Bond).
This is how Joss and Tegan are on the same page. They are both grieving over their mother and dealing with mental health challenges. Tegan’s only friend prior to Joss’s arrival was her grandmother, but with Joss’s presence, she began to feel more normal and happier.
Furthermore, for these two, the healing was reciprocal. Tegan and Joss were mending and motivating each other as they grew closer and began to overcome their grief and move toward a healthy relationship. Meanwhile, the spring season in Cornwall has begun to alter Joss’s attitude and feelings; they (Joss and Daniel) are gradually falling in love, and Daniel is becoming the filler in her voids.
This romantic relationship is so heartwarming and sweet, and its simple script and poetic romantic location has made this film more elegant and elating. This is how the presence of love can solve all our mental anxieties.

The reading of Wordsworth’s poems is my favorite portion of the movie. “I strolled lonely as a cloud” in that idyllic lyrical setting. The description of daffodils was ideal for the time of year here in the Pacific Northwest; when the daffodils are dancing in the breeze so merrily.”
This is a must-watch film because of its magnificent setting and attractive cast, whose chemistry was so genuine that it transported us to the beautiful countryside for 1 hour and 24 minutes. The simple tale was incredibly engaging and realistic, addressing themes and difficulties that we all face on a regular basis.
A wonderful film to enjoy with your family and friends. It will not bore you for a single second, but their love tale will rejuvenate our minds. You must see the film.
