Ben is Back: Ending Explained
Ben struggles to keep his sobriety throughout the movie and ultimately gets involved with drugs again. His friend, Maggie, gets caught up in the same loophole by his influence. Ben convinces her to try drugs, and she gets overindulged in it. Eventually, she dies due to addiction problems and overdose, and her mother can’t save her.
But Maggie’s mother tried to help another suffering from the same consequences by giving Ben’s mother, Holly, a survival kit to help a person survive an overdose. Naturally, after Maggie’s death, Ben feels guilty and blames himself for her death since he was the one who dragged her into the drug addiction.
He couldn’t help but take the drugs in an overwhelming amount once he got the opportunity to do so due to his friend Clayton, who provided him with the drugs. Ben overdosed, but Holly saved him with the same kit that Maggie’s mother gave her. In the end, Ben was saved, depicting that there was still hope for him to recover from addiction, and on the road to recovery, his mother would always be there for him.
