A Discovery of Witches seasons two and three are confirmed after the show’s first season. The series is based on Deborah Harkness’s All Souls literary trilogy.
The show came out as Sky One’s most popular show of 2018.
Respectably, it attracted two million viewers and was later renewed, with the next two seasons following the second, Shadow of Night, and the third book, The Book of Life, respectively.
It is pretty rare that we get to see two seasons given the green light at once. The networks usually prefer to walk on a slower pace that is, one season at a time.
A Discovery Of Witches Season 2: When Will The Next Chapter Hit The Screens?
According to Sky, the season will premiere in 2020, but there’s confirmation on exactly which date we can expect it.
By the end of December 2019, the series’ official Twitter account made a post that they are finished with the UK production. Also, it said that they are set to begin filming in Italy.
“Final day of the UK filming for season 2 today! We can’t wait for you to see the magic onscreen in 2020!”
On January 7, 2020, around one week later to the first announcement, the same account then revealed that only two weeks of shooting is left to film:
“Here, we are again. Last two weeks filming on #ADiscoveryOfWitches then it’s all in the can!!”
We’re not sure if the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic all over the world has affected production and the later release date.
But Steven Cree, who’ll be playing a new character Gallowglass, shared an article indicating that the release of the series wouldn’t be late.
A Discovery Of Witches Season 2: Who all are returning, and will there be any newcomers?

Then there are Sarah Bishop (Alex Kingston), Nathaniel Wilson (Daniel Ezra), Emily Mather (Valarie Pettiford) and Sophie Norman (Aisling Loftus).
And those aren’t the only familiar characters fans will get to see. Aiysha Hart is all set to return as Miriam Shephard. Edward Bluemel will return as Marcus Whitmore.
Lindsay Duncan will be Ysabeau de Clermont. Malin Buska as Satu Järvinen.
Owen Teale will appear as Peter Knox and Trevor Eve as Gerbert D’Aurillac.
Also, Gregg Chillin will play the role of Domenico Michele.
Apart from them, Tom Hughes will also accompany the cast as Kit Marlowe, (an English playwright, translator and poet of the Elizabethan era).
A Discovery Of Witches Season 2: What Will Be The Plot Of The Next Chapter?
Book two of the All Souls Trilogy, The Shadow Of Night. The story pushes Diana and Matthew into Elizabethan London, a world of spies and deceptions. Also, there is a clique of Matthew’s old friends, the peculiar ‘School of Night.’
The aim is to look for a witch to teach Diana to work with her powers and to find signs of Ashmole 782. But Matthew’s past starts shadowing them. So, they begin on a very different path, one that takes them into the core of the 1,500-year-old vampire’s dark history and secrets.
Time travel is not that simple for Matthew Clairmont. And Diana’s search for the key to understanding her destiny is an equally complex task.
Well, wait for the next season to arrive and then there will be all the horror and drama that been missed in early 2020.
