Plot
The story of the American Siege movie revolves around the news of the missing of a young lass, Brigit Baker. And as the loose ends of law will have it, the cops fail to find any trace of her for quite a long time. Her family got frustrated and almost gave up on finding her out.
Just when they lost faith in law as well as in themselves, Brigit’s partner Roy is released from jail almost after a decade. He took the initiative to find Brigit as soon as possible. Grace and Toby, correspondingly Brigit’s sister and cousin, find join hands with Roy and end up on a mission to find her.
But in the process, they abduct an affluent doctor and hold him as a hostage. They also end up harming innocent people as part of collateral damage and consequently become a part of the WANTED list of the police.

Script
The script of American Siegehad nothing very special to offer in terms of dialogue exchanges. The chosen dialect was a good match for the backdrop of the movie. But the script did not seem to be an extension of the characters’ personalities. As a result, there was a prominent lack of binding between the script and the screenplay, which affected the overall film.
Acting
The presence of Bruce Willis is strong enough to enhance the overall acting performance in American Siege. Having said that, Rob Gough did absolute justice to his character.

Laffrey Witbrod did a splendid job as the cinematographer of American Siege. His work of camera in the film took the presentation to a different height, thereby suiting the flavor of a thriller. Justin Williams as the editor plays a significant role in the failure of the film as a whole. There were moments and scenes which could have been omitted with more emphasis on other ones. Good sharp editing could have contributed much more to the binding of the film.
Direction
Edward Drake undoubtedly happens to be one of the best directors of American Siege. However, this thriller did not match up to the expectations of his ardent viewers. A simple plot can be executed in different ways, which can yield good cinema.
And that execution is mostly in the hands of the director. The approach of the director in American Siege was too direct, which went on track with the expected line of action. Nevertheless, the film presented one of the finest performances in terms of acting.
Stream it or Skip it?
For all those thriller lovers who have been treated with good doses of Agatha Christie in books and James Bond in movies, there is no big reason to stream American Siege. Skipping it is the aptest suggestion unless you want to see Bruce Willis on screen.
