Is Broadcast Signal Intrusion Worth Watching or Not?
The movie was basically set in 1999. The role of James, who is a video archivist residing in Chicago, is played by Harry Shum Jr. James comes across a recording regarding the broadcast signal intrusion. He becomes consumed with it and wants to learn more. Soon he stumbles upon another recording and then hears about the third recording as well.
Things turn upside down when he learns about the fact that the dates of those intrusions fall in line with those of the missing women, and it is the same time when Hannah, his wife, vanished. This is pretty much everything about the plot of the movie.
The film is inspired by the conspiracy movies of the 1970s and 1980s. The main character gets obsessed over something and then thinks that he is just a step closer to solving the mystery. It seems like it is a perfect time for movies like Broadcast Signal Intrusion as piracy issues and lack of trust over the government.
A thing that could have been more focussed on in the movie is James’s grief which controls his curiosity. Upon discovering the recording, James finds an instant connection with his trauma. The movie was more of a missing wife story than being about the issue.
In the movie’s final moments, it seems like the film is just beginning, and the things also don’t add up pretty well. Many films have shown the issue in a better way. To count a few, we can cite Censor and Berberian Sound Studio. Broadcast Signal Intrusion is a slow movie, and as per watching the movie, you can WATCH it. It is just a one-time watch and won’t make much sense. But, it is possible that you’ll be able to learn a thing or two about BSI.
