The official release date of the Candyman 2021 film is announced. This American supernatural slasher film Candyman is written by DaCosta, Jordan Peele, and Win Rosenfeld. Nia Dacosta directed the film under the production of Win Rosenfeld, Jordan Peele, and Ian Cooper. The 2021 film Candyman is the direct sequel of the Candyman in 1992 with the same name. Candyman films developed this film as their fourth series based on “The Forbidden” by Clive Barker.
The story of this film is about a new couple that moves into gentrified Cabrini, where they open the door to the long-gone past, which is brought back to avenge unleashing dark and terror from the story of an innocent man framed by the police officers for planting razor blades in the candy’s because of their racist attitude which led to the death of the man and now he is believed to be haunting the Cabrini neighborhood as the Candyman.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II starring Anthony McCoy is the young visual artist discovering his connection to the Candyman. Teyonah Parris will be playing Brianna Cartwright, Anthony’s girlfriend, who accompanies him in the green housing projects of Cabrini. Michael Hargrove is acting as Sherman Fields named Candyman. The production has been working on this film since the 2000s.
But after a lot of changes and decisions, the photographic development of the film finally started after a long wait in August 2019 and was completed in September 2019 in Chicago. The Officials have confirmed the release of the film. Candyman will be theatrically released in the United States on August 27, 2021, by Universal Pictures.

This initiative deserves to be appreciated, along with the strong performance of the cast.
Although some of the viewers criticized the film for not being as horrifyingly attractive as expected from a horror film, the psychological side of the film unraveling the sanity of human thoughts and fears is an exciting concept that could have given some more serious attention during the development of the film. Overall after looking at the trailer, it seems interesting to know the story of Candyman, but it again depends on whether you like candy or not.
