Candyman is a 2021 supernatural mass murder film, and it is a sequel to the original film released almost four decades back in 1982. The series has been based on “The Forbidden”, written by Clive Barker. The sequel has been written by Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld, and Nia Da Costa; Nia Da Costa has directed the film. The cast of the movie is Yahya Abdul Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart Jarrett, Colman Doming, and Tony Todd.
Candyman is about a bogeyman who is supposed to kill anyone who will say out loud his name five times in front of the mirror. The plot in this movie is about a housing project in Chicago where the residents were afraid of a story about a bogeyman with a hook in place of his hand. Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul Matten II) was an artist who was obsessed with Candyman, and he was unaware of his connections with him.
Release Date and Where to Watch

There have been neither any dates nor or any announcements regarding when the movie will get a digital release. And it is hard to say which OTT platform will be getting the streaming rights of the film.
Can We Expect a Sequel
The new Candyman movie is released, and the audience has given a mixed review about the film. The audience has stated that the plot of the film is bland and uninteresting; the 2021 version of the film is spreading a message of hate, racism, division, and abhor. Because these disgraceful messages spread through movies, the audience did not like it and started calling it politically motivated white inferiority.
Some fans hated the movie because they believe that Hollywood has once again taken a classic movie and ruined it making it nothing but racism and spreading hate. But some people have found this film exciting and scary, and it perfectly depicts what it means to live in the clutches of fear and poverty. However, the critics did not like this movie and called it a “failure” to be a sequel and a reboot.
They also said that it fails to relate to the original movie, and it is one of the film’s fatal flaws; there was no effective horror or character development. The critics also stated the film’s flaw is the message it is spreading, that is, hate and racism. Both the fans and critics did not like this movie, and they would not recommend watching it either.
A sequel is produced based on the following and support of the fans, but if the fans do not watch the film, it will not do well in the Box Office then; in all probability, this film will not be privileged enough to get a second sequel.
