Greg receives several warnings from his father who wishes to send him to military school because of his mischievous behavior. But Greg has to find other alternatives to get into the doghouse. And things don’t actually turn out well when he goes out camping with his father with the other explorers. There Greg meets Heffley’s new dog named sweetie. Now, this little sweetie fetches Greg a huge deal of trouble.
The Summer Vacation
Vacations are meant to be enjoyable but if you’re Greg Heffley, this isn’t for you. Grey wishes to spend his vacation inside the house amidst video games and a fully air-conditioned room. But he has one thing in his way for this absolute bliss, his father.
His father won’t allow Greg to stay there like that. He wishes that his son should go out like the other kids and do some outdoor stuff too. But Greg is definitely not made for this kind of summer. Greg puts in a lot of effort to be a good son for his father and tries every possible thing to impress him and mainly because he doesn’t wish to go to military school.
More About the Film
In this third movie, we see that Greg wishes to spend the summer playing video games before he begins his eighth grade. He also wishes to be close to his crush, Holly Hills. But his dad crushes all his plans and bans video games from his house.
The father only wishes to reestablish the connection that he had with his son while he was young. He makes several arrangements for fishing trips and even registers his son for Scouts.
And Greg sees it as a good opportunity to meet Holly when his best friend, Rowley invites him to go to the family’s country Club. And in this club, Holly works as a tennis instructor. Now Greg has just one thing in mind, to call off his father’s plans. So he informs his folks about his job at the club.
