‘Best’ and ‘safe’ are not the correct choice of words to use simultaneously for describing a horror film. Films of the horror genre make you wonder why you are a part of this nightmare and keep you hooked to your screens. Horror films have a nasty habit of giving you nightmares for long after the credits of the film roll in. And if the horror film has a pinch of thrill in it, get ready for a spine-chilling adventure that will give you a high dose of adrenaline rush. One such film that is a mixture of both is Don’t Breathe by Fede Alvarez.
Don’t Breathe 3 Expected Plot
The exact storyline of the sequel is still unknown. The plot can take up any direction. Fans can expect Rocky to return to Detroit to finish Norman Nordstrom once and for all to avenge the death of her friends Money and Alex. The plot might also focus on another home invasion in Detroit which Norman faces alone. Or it could entirely shift the focus on the life of Phoenix as she takes care of Detroit after the passing away of Norman.
Don’t Breathe 3 Expected Cast
Considering the makers decide to bring back Rocky for the sequel, fans might see Jane Levy making a comeback to play Rocky’s role. Though it’s hard to imagine anyone else taking the role of Norman Nordstrom (The Blind Man) except Stephen Lang, we can see Lang’s role entirely off the table if makers decide to show Lang as dead. Apart from Madelyn Grace reprising her role as Norman’s adopted daughter, Phoenix, the rest of the sequel’s cast should be completely new.
Don’t Breathe 3 Release Date
The release date of the film is still not confirmed yet. The makers took 5 years to come up with the sequel of Don’t Breathe. However, as per reports, the third part of the film is currently under the pre-production stage. If everything goes well, considering the coronavirus situation, the makers might release Don’t Breathe 3 in theatres by 2023 in August, following the trend of the first two films.
After receiving mixed reviews for the second part, it was presumed that this might be the end of the Don’t Breathe franchise. However, director-producer Fede Alvarez gave the fans quite a surprise announcing that The Blind Man is returning for a third part. The first part of the film portrayed the character of Norman as a bloodthirsty, ruthless older man who kills the intruders with utmost cruelty. This created a villainous image of Norman in the minds of viewers.
But then, the second part tried to change the audience’s perspective about Norman by showing him as a soft-hearted older man who raises Phoenix, his adopted daughter, with utmost love and affection and can go to any extent to ensure her safety. The contrasting character trait of Norman did not go well with the audience, resulting in mixed audience reviews from the audience. Will the sequel be a saving grace for the franchise, or will it cause the ultimate doom of the horror series? Only time will tell. Till then, stay tuned for more updates.
