Gerard Butler’s series ‘Has Fallen’ is back again with its 4th season, titled ‘Night Has Fallen.’ Has Fallen is an American franchise action-adventure movie series that consists of 3 seasons now. It began in 2013 with Olympus Has Fallen had grown up as a money-making series.
With the blockbuster hit of the first season, Has Fallen was back with ‘London Has Fallen’ in 2016, followed by ‘Angel Has Fallen; in 2019, while the upcoming Has Fallen 4 will be titled ‘Night Has Fallen.’
All three seasons of Has Fallen series are made with a total budget of $170 million and collected a combined total of $523 million worldwide. The main featuring cast is Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman. The series has good fan-based by 6.4/10 IMDb ratings.
What Can be Expected from ‘Night Has Fallen’?
The ‘Has Fallen’ 4, titled Night Has Fallen, was given the green light in November 2020. Gerald Butler confirmed that in addition to serving as a producer, he is also casting the role of Mike Banning. Ric Roman Waugh will return as a director of the film.
Robert Mark Kamen & Ric Roman Waugh will co-write the script, and it will be co-produced by Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Les Weldon, Heidi Jo Markel, Jonathan Yunger, Jeffrey Greenstein, and Yariv Lerner. The premiering would be a joint-venture production project between G-BASE, Campbell Grobman Films, Eclectic Pictures, and Millennium Media.
The storyline of Night Has Fallen a mystery, as no official announcement has been made yet. But it is assumed that the 4th chapter would pick up with the ending scene of the last series where Mike Baning was saving the world from terrorist attacks.
Storyline
Rather than just an agent, in the upcoming movie, Banning will be cast as the director of the secret service. Also, he will face new responsibilities of saving the world. Moreover, he will also have to save Morgan Freeman, the new US President after Asher’s tenure ends. Except for director Ric Roman Waugh and screenwriter Robert Kamen, no other member from the production team has been confirmed for the return in the upcoming season.
Gerard Butler will recast the role of Mike Banning. He is a former comrade of the US Army Special Forces, the protagonist. Also, Nick Nolte might also return as Clay, Banning’s father, who will continue to stay at home. Morgan Freeman might likely be returned as Allan Trumbull, the President who survives in the third season. As a result, the 4th chapter will be more exciting to see how the courageous and determined Banning is. Also, we will see how he saves Morgan.
What will be the Release Date?
Unfortunately, plans for sequels and spinoffs are few and much between. Considering the small information known thus far about Night Has Fallen, the direct sequel to Angel Has Fallen would likely break the three-year release tradition of its predecessors.
The delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic also bring possible delays, likely landing the movie a 2023 release date at the earliest, if it’s made.
