After waiting two years in a row, On My Block season 4 premiered on Netflix on October 4th, 2021. All the previous three seasons are now fully available on Netflix. The fans are curious to learn more about the arrival of season 5, whether there is a possibility of having so or not.

The show has four friends, namely Monse, Ruby, Cesar, and Jamal. All four of them have different life stories which perfectly intertwine. Cesar wants to move away from his brother and his gang. On the other hand, there is a budding romance between Monse and Cesar, but they were not in a long-term relationship. Their relationship suffers a hard patch with the entry of Olivia.
There are speculations about a treasure, and Jamal is keen on finding it. Monse agrees to help Jamal, and Cesar, on the other hand, lands in more trouble, this time with his brothers’ enemy group – Prophet.
We see a few romantic couples and a few breakups. Cesar gets close to Olivia, and they happen to be in a relationship, but they break up soon after. After a breakup, Olivia and Ruby become a couple, and Cesar and Monse owe their feelings for one another, and they become a couple. Unfortunately, Olivia dies due to a shooting fight.
Later in the show, the four friends move to final year. Monse and Cesar were looking forward to a relationship and a future together. Ruby goes into a relationship with Jasmine, and Jamal finally seeks his true identity and passion and starts working under his idol Noel Aroma.
What Are The Updates Regarding Season 5?
The show has been critically acclaimed, and fans expected that it would be renewed for a fifth season, but there is no news about it. We do not have any information regarding the production of a new season, but Netflix commented that they are facing troubles regarding the payment of the actors as they are not satisfied with the pay. The monetary issue seems to be trivial for a tech and entertainment giant like Netflix.
But to satiate the hunger of the fans, Netflix will be presenting with a new spin-off that might make the fans feel better. The spin-off will have a plot similar to the original and might be an extension as well. The fans are expecting the same show with the same stars to be renewed, but some of the members of the cast have tweeted that there might not be a fifth season after all.
