Matthew B. Roberts, executive producer of Outlander Season 6 has promised the fans that this season will be full of drama and worth the wait. Apart from this, fans will also be able to enjoy scenes that will be inspired from A Breath of Snow and Ashes, the sixth novel of Diana Gabaldon.
Renewing Outlander for its sixth installment was a piece of cake, owing to its popularity. Sam Heughan, who plays the role of Jamie Fraser in an interview with Daily Record said that the shooting for this season began in January and it’s going on pretty well. Obviously, the crew and cast must have experienced difficulties because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the protocols that need to be taken care of. Due to this reason only, the show’s sixth season got a smaller number of episodes. Now, it will have eight episodes that’ll come by 2022.
The Plot of Outlander Season 6
Season 6 will begin right off from where season 5 left off. At the end of season 5, we saw Frasers and MacKenzies healing from their bad experiences and losses. But, now they’re together and will face whatever lies for them in the future.
Season 6 will be based on Gabaldon’s novel. In season 5 also a part of the story from this novel was shown. But, since this is a book, there’s a lot yet to come.

A breath of Snow and Ashes covers the years 1773-1776 which means that the Frasers are near to the American Revolution. Some things from the book which might or might not get a place in this TV series are:

- Jamie’s new job- Indian agent
- Roger becoming a minister
- Lizzie getting pregnant
Fans are quite excited for this new season and are already posting titles of various episodes on social media. From this, we can easily guess the craze of the series among its viewers. Some of these names are- Allegiance, Temperance, Echoes, and The World Upside Down. These title names haven’t been confirmed by Starz.
