Stream It Or Skip It?
Ray Donovan: The Movie continues from where the seventh season came to an end where Smitty, the husband of Ray’s daughter Bridget was dead after another mess up from the former con Mickey, where they were supposed to steal bonds from a crime lord.
After Smitty woke up drunk, he was attended by Ray and his dysfunctional brothers, Terry, Brunchy and Daryll. Bridget thumped them, asking, “Why is it so easy for you to forget?” But the fans of the show know that Ray Donovan doesn’t forget. He heads off to Boston to find Mickey so that he can retrieve the bonds. The season finale skips ahead, showing Ray confessed to killing his father, but things are never so simple in this show.
The movie is special because of the past affairs, and it’s been shot in a classic film style which contrasts the light and shadow, and the film is beautiful and originally damaged to its core. In the film, we see flashbacks which act as a shortcut, but these flashbacks cut a little deeper than ought to be. In the flashbacks, we see a younger Mickey and a teen Ray portraying and creating the origin story that would define their complicated relationship.
But in the end, this movie is about a love story between a father and a son who keeps on trying to kill each other. The film is interesting, and it is full of twists fans can expect dark humour, and there are no bland jokes or plotholes. As a result, this makes it a good choice to watch, and fans should watch this movie.
