Now that Survivor 41st season has ended, rumors about the 42nd season are circulating. It is a pattern that 2 seasons of Survivor are filmed back to back. Season 39 and 40 were released in September 2019 and February 2020. As the COVID-19 restrictions were strict, filming for the next season could not be done in 2020.

We got to see a complicated season of Survivor with a lot of backstabbing and confusion among the contestants. The contestants were stranded on a deserted island for a span of 26 days. The 26 days includes 2 weeks of quarantine for all the contestants and crew members.
Out of the five finalists of season 41, Heather, Richard, Erika, Xander and Deshawn, it was up to the contestants to vote for the winner who will be taking the huge sum of money home. It’s a routine in Survivor to announce the winner live only after the show is aired and months are passed from the release date.
But due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the first time in the show history winner was announced on the day of the final episode. And the winner of season 41 was Erika.

Unlike the usual release schedule, which is Spring of every year, the next season is set to be released on March 9, 2022. For what is said to be the most dangerous season, we must look forward to what is on hold for the contestants. Also, the season includes a very diverse cast. This is a mandate by CBS to have a 50% diversity rate, which means that there have to be people from different races and backgrounds.
