The cinematic intensity of the movie and the revenge thriller story of an ex-military interrogator who turns into a gambler will definitely draw you towards this drama. An interesting story where the ghosts of his past decisions haunt the man makes this movie stand out in its storytelling in its own way.

Should You Stream it or Skip it

The filmmaker of this movie has again presented a masterpiece by working on his forte. A movie that drives its audiences through many mysteries and presents a thriller drama will make you sit on the edge of your seat; even thinking about what comes next in the movie will present no value. Unfortunately, even though the cast has delivered a brilliant performance, at times, the transitions and the plot threads in the movie seemed abrupt, thus making 2/3 of the movie really good but 1/3 hanging somewhere.

In this movie, Oscar Isaac has performed the lead role with his steely-eyed performance with other supporting casts like William Defoe, Tye Sheridan, and Tiffany Haddish in dramatic roles. The main characters in the movie are William Tell, La Linda, Cirk and Major John Gordo, which the cast mentioned above plays. Even the rules of Ekaterina Baker, Adrienne lau, Amye Gousset, Alexander Babara and Alireza Mirmontazeriare praise worthy.

The plot of the Movie

A drama that has Oscar Isaac is playing the lead role of William Tell, who is supposedly a gambler now. A former serviceman sets out to reform the life of a young man seeking revenge on a mutual enemy from the past. However, tell acquires an upper hand by just playing the cards and the main role done by the other young men.

Movie Time

A review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes gave a rating for this film. The approval rating went on to 97%, which was collectively based on 34 reviews, and they gave an average rating of 7.8 out of 10 to this movie. Their main reason behind giving this movie a high rating was an Oscar is a brilliant action performance that has made the character come alive.

Another reason for this movie getting a higher rating is Paul Schrader’s storytelling and directorial work. Card counter is believed to be one of his career’s best works with a beautiful representation of a man’s moral responsibility. Even Metacritic has given this movie an average score of 83 out of 100, which was based on 18 critics and was indicated as universal acclaim.

Though the movie has certain loopholes in its storytelling procedure, certain things must be appreciated throughout. It is clearly the story behind the drama and the performance that will draw you towards this movie; giving out 112 minutes of your time is shortly your decision to take.

The only word in the dictionary which can describe Lokesh well is "Curious". He is a man who sits in the corner of a café, sipping his coffee and watch others and write about them having a good time. Addicted to bettering himself each day. An impressive introvert who finds his home in the places he travels. It's either the power of universe or sunsets that sets his soul free. In between, He can be found wrapped in his own bubble, knitting stories even before the sun rises!
