American action thriller movie called “The Last Days of American Crime” is a 2020 release from Olivier Megaton’s direction. Screenwriter Karl Gajdusek creates the storyline inspired by 2009’s graphic novel written by Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini that goes by the same name.
It was seen as a regrettable release that critics have attacked since its premiere coincided with the ongoing George Floyd protests. Owing to the graphic content & violence showing police brutality, the movie has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, as seen in October 2021.

In June 2020, The movie also came out digitally on the famous streaming platform Netflix. It became one of the most-watched movies on the service in the very initial weeks of its online release.
The Plot: What Happens in “The Last Days of American Crime”?
The film lives in the year 2024, and the government has created a synaptic blocking signal called American Peace Initiative, abbreviated as API. Being a synaptic signal, it can control a human being’s thought process from committing any criminal activity. The film’s focus then moves to Graham Bricke, who is a robber currently robbing a bank with his gang.
When the government tests the signal on a member of Bricke’s gang, it results in his death. Post the fortunate robbery, Bricke informs his employers and the Dumois family about the robbery money that he lost. The truth is that Bricke hid the money as he wanted to fly away to Canada.
The Twist in the Plot
Unfortunately for Bricke, things didn’t work out as planned. He learns about his brother Rory’s death, who had been doing his time in prison. He is unlucky time does not end there but even worsens when someone takes away the hidden money from the robbery. During the search for the lost money, he sees Sidell, who tells him about Johnny, Bricke’s gang member.
Johhny told Sidell that he learnt about Bricke concealing the looted money from the Dumois family. After this, Bricke kills both Johnny and Sidell. Subsequently, Bricke purchases neurotoxin, goes to a bar and meets Shelby Dupree. Shelby then acquaints Bricke with Kevin Cash, who was a prison mate to Rory, his dead brother.
Kevin tells Bricke about the API test held in prison and that the prison guards killed Rory. Later, Bricke is offered to join them for another robbery at the money factory, to be done before the government officially launches the API signal. Kevin, the heir of the Dumois family, becomes the robbery leader, and Shelby begins making fake bills.
Shockingly, Bricke learns that Shelby is threatened by the FBI to willingly corporate lest they’ll hurt her sister. A series of drastic events take place, leading to the death of Kevin’s father, Rossi, and Shelby being drugged and taken hostage.
