The Plot of the Movie
The movie revolves around a character named Tom, who is a World War I veteran who is now involved in maintaining a lighthouse off the shore of Australia. He lives with his wife Isabel, who is desperate to have a baby. One day a miracle happens, and a child is washed offshore in a small boat. Initially, Tom thinks of informing the authorities regarding the child, but looking at his wife’s desperation, he gives up the idea and thinks to adopt the girl child.
Tables turn when this couple goes to the mainland and meets their child’s biological mother. Thus, the actual story starts when they are supposed to take a decision that would affect not only them but also two more lives throughout.
