What is the Plot of Turning Red?
Turning Red basically revolves around a girl called Meilin or “Mei” Lee who is a 13-year old Chinese and Canadian student. The plot of the film is set between 2002 and 2003 in Toronto, Canada. One day Meilin makes a horrifying discovery about herself. She finds out that whenever she gets too excited or too stressed, she turns into a giant red panda from a human being.
But as soon as she calms herself, she turns back into a human from a red panda. Ongoing into more depth about why all this happens, she is able to find out the reason. The reason behind all this is because the ancestors of Meilin shared history with the species of giant red panda due to a curse that they got.
Apart from this she also learns that she can get rid of this curse if she performs a special ritual on a specific night. But Meilies bad luck follows her and on that specific night, her favorite boy band 4*Town coincides. Now Meilin has to choose between her favorite boy band or getting rid of the curse.
