What Is Westworld About?
The series involves the story of Westworld, an extremely technologically advanced amusement park based on a western theme where android robots live. The robots are programmed to prevent any harm to humans so that humans can enjoy fulfilling their wildest dreams in the place without fearing the consequences from anyone, including the automatons.
But everything starts to fall apart when the robots start functioning against their nature of programming and become a threat to people around them. Finally, in the third season, we see a world controlled by Rehoboam’s artificial intelligence.
The show’s first season was released on October 2, 2016, with ten episodes on HBO. It is the most-watched first season of any HBO series.
What Happened Previously On Westworld?
Westworld, the tech amusement park, is run by a company called Delos Inc which manages the programming of the android robots that act as the hosts in the park. The guests can fulfill any wish that they like since the robots do not have a conscious and won’t be hurt by their actions as humans would.
Their memory is wiped out after every story. But when Doctor Ford updates the system of the hosts, a few of them gain the human ability to feel and remember their erased memories. Finally, in the final episode of season 1, Dolores gives Doctor Ford a fatal shock when he announces a new story for the park.
She tries to find the bank where every algorithm and data regarding the wiped memories of the hosts are stored. Later looks for information about the AI Rehoboam for a final fight against the cruelty of the inhumane experiments they were put through. By the end of the third season, Dolores gives up her own life to defeat Serac, the creator of Rehoboam.
