What happened to Mordo in Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness had been raising questions. Like, How did Dr. Strange get his third eye? What happened to Wanda? And Where is Mordo of Earth 616? We got a glimpse of Mordo from the alternate universe, but where is Mordo from our universe? What happened to him? is still a question that lies.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released on May 6, 2022. It was a continuation of the WandaVision and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The movie created a buzz around the globe. It gave a lot of answers but created a lot of questions even more.
We are here to answer one of that. What happened to Mordo?
DOCTOR STRANGE END CREDIT SCENE
Mordo was last seen in Doctor Strange 1. He was very close to The Ancient One, and he was the one who took Strange in Kamar-Taj despite The Ancient Ones’ objections.
He stood by Strange all his journey. Made his allies in front of The Ancient One and taught him the Mystic Arts.
Although soon enough, he started disliking Doctor Strange for melding the rules of time and space and mystic arts. Little did he know that The Ancient One used to draw her powers from the dark dimension. Which is prohibited, and she judges others for doing so. This made her a hypocrite (no hate from us to her!).
At the end of the movie, Mordo agrees to fight alongside Strange and Kamar-Taj to defeat Dormammu. But, he walked away from everything as soon as the fight ended.
The post-credit scene of the Doctor Strange 1 showed Mordo in a rebellious avatar. He killed Jonathan Pangborn. Mordo revelad that he has left the Kamar-Taj. He defeated Jonathan in the fight, drew on his powers, and said that he would cleanse this world from rogue sorcerers.
CHIWETEL EJIOFOR’S STATEMENT
Although we didn’t get a glimpse of Mordo from Earth 616 in the new Doctor Strange movie or any other Marvel movie since Doctor Strange 1, Chiwetel Ejiofor made a statement that Mordo survived that snap for Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War.
DELETED SCENE
A deleted scene from Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness created the buzz. It was an opening scene where Mordo tracked Wanda and was the first to find out that she had become The Scarlet Witch. A fight happens, and the all-powerful Wanda kills him.
This scene never made it to the cut. However, it would have cleared out a lot of questions.
OUR ASSUMPTION
Marvel deleting the opening scene might mean that they have different plans for Karl Mordo. We are assuming that he is out there doing what he thought was right, “cleansing the world.”
He chooses the sorcerer’s accordingly—the one who breaks the rules of mystical arts.
The producers, creators, and actors, none of them have confirmed whether Mordo is alive or not. He did survive the snap. A possible outcome is that he is alive.
